Alexis' POV

She bit her lower lip without breaking our eye contact. Then she cleared her throat, ruffling her hair.

"Did you have any doubts?!" She asked arrogantly and walked towards the door without waiting for me to say anything. "See you at home." She added without turning back, waving her hand, and left the room.

I burst out laughing and shook my head.

This woman...

After taking a shower, I put on gray sweatpants and a white shirt and went to the living room.

When I walked into the room, I heard Charlotte talking on the phone with a low voice. Her back was turned towards me; so she didn't notice me.

I clenched my fist as I heard that old businessman's name.

"Mr. Qadir, my schedule is busy... Yes, I understand, but... I will think... Bye." She heaved a loud sigh as she hung up the phone.

"Does he keep bothering you?" I asked between gritted teeth and approached her.

"Alex..." She mumbled nervously.

"Why didn't you tell me?" I asked angrily.

She sighed and replied. "Because I knew you would get mad. Don't worry. I will handle it."

"You will not handle anything alone. Leave it to me. I know how to deal with this kind of man." I stated firmly and went to my study room without waiting for her to say anything.

"Alex!" She shouted behind me, but I ignored her and walked into my study room, slamming the door behind me.

I grabbed my phone and called Omar while starting pacing back and forth.

"I need your help." I stated firmly as soon as he picked up the phone.

As soon as I finished talking to Omar on the phone in my office, I called my assistant quickly. After hearing what Omar told me about Mahmud, I felt worried about Charlotte; there was a bad feeling in my heart. My friend informed me that that man was involved in drug dealing, human trafficking, gambling and so on. Moreover, he was sued by some model two months ago; he tried to force himself on her while she worked in a campaign for his clothing brand. However, she couldn't prove anything, and he didn't pay for what he did.

A few minutes later, someone knocked on the door and opened it.

"Yes, sir?" My assistant said after closing the door behind her.

"Cancel my meeting with Mrs. Lawrence and ask Charlotte to come to my office." I ordered firmly and gave her the file I had recently signed.

"I will cancel. And Ms. Wright isn't here." She said, grabbing the file.

"Where did she go?" I asked, worried, raising my eyebrow.

"She didn't say anything to her assistant. I needed her signature for the documents: so I called her assistant, and she informed me about it."

I clenched my fist and grabbed my phone. When I called Charlotte, her phone was turned off.

Damn it!

Please don't go to meet that bastard, Charlotte!

"Did she have any meetings outside? Photoshoot or anything else?" I asked Nancy anxiously.

"No, sir. Umm... But I heard her talking on the phone and planning to meet up with someone." She informed me uneasily.

"Who?"
