Chapter 9

I had mixed emotions about what just happened. I like Dakota and I "like" Zach.

"I spoke to soon." Chloe said getting in the car.

*Skip the car drive*

I went in my room and laid on my bed with my head in a pillow.

I thought about calling Dakota but I was too scared too. I also thought if I didn't at lease reach out to him he wouldn't have my number.

So I just texted him.

Me: Hey its Katie from science class...just wanted to text you so you'll have my number.

I didn't get a response for like three mintues.

Dakota: Hey, yeah I got it. But are you doing anything.

Me: No. why?

Dakota: Because I thought you would like to hang. Don't worry Rory went home.

Me: Haha sure you can come over if you want.

I gave him my address.

Dakota: Alright don't live too far from there.

Me: Great see you soon.

Dakota: Yeah, see ya.

He didn't seem excited to come over. I think its a guy thing, to not show your excited or something. I don't know.

I have no idea Zach texted me.

He texted about twenty minutes ago. Oops.

Zach: Hey can we Oovoo?

Me: uhh sure.

Zach: Finally you text back.

Me: I was at the mall but what's your oovoo? Or we can FaceTime from my laptop?

Zach gave me his email and I put it in my computer.

Zach answered.

"Hey Katie."

"Hey, Zach." I smiled.

"You look cute af when you smile." Zach smiled back

"You look cute af when you smile too."

Why did I just say that? Do I like him? Yes. No. Yes.

"So what you doing?"

"Well Dakota is coming over." I said clapping my hands together once.

"He is?"

"Yeah."

"Are you guys like dating now?"

"No."

"Oh, great I still have a chance."

"Its kinda of hard..." I heard my door bell ring. "I'll be right back."

"I'll get it mom!" I yelled at my mom as I left my room.

Opened the door. Its was Dakota.

"Hey stranger." I said as I hugged him.

"Hey!" He hugged me back.

I lead him too my room and he closed the door.

"What were you doing?" Dakota asked.

"Just FaceTiming Zach, he's still on with me."

"Zach say something!" I said kinda like a yell while I put my papers in my draw.

"Sup Dakota." Zach said.

"Oh hey dude."

"Okay well you can take your shoes off and put it by the door." I said as I went back to he laptop.

"Yeah sure."

"Katie I'll text you."

"Okay, well bye."

"Bye I love you!" Zach smiled

"I love you too." I started laughing.

I ended the call.

"So are you guys going out?" Dakota asked me.

"No he just jokes around like that." I said with a smile.

"Oh. Cool."

"Yeah, so why don't you talk to me at school?" I hopped on my bed.

"I don't know. I just didn't know you would like me."

"That's the same reason I didn't talk to you."

"So tell me something about yourself."

"Okay. Well, uhh I like to write."

"Write what?"

"Story's mainly."

"What kind of story's?"

"I like Teen Fiction." I smiled.

"Oh cool. I bet your really good."

"Yeah, its kinda good."

He smiled at me.

"So I heard you do YouNow."

"Yeah."

"This is so awkward, just talking do you want to go get some ice cream or something?"

He laughed. "I could go for some ice cream right now."
