Charlotte's POV
I scan the cafeteria for a free table, and I internally groan when I see Jasmine and Hayden sitting down at a table together.
Deciding my best option was to eat in the library, I turn towards the door, but before I could even attempt to escape I hear my name being called.
"Charlotte" Jasmine yells, and I sigh as I walk over to them, being very aware of the people looking towards us wondering why my name was being shouted.
I step over the bench and sit down, but I don't miss the way Jasmine looks at my food then at me in disgust.
"Your favourite couple is back together!" Jasmine grins, as she rest her head on Hayden's shoulder. "You guys broke up?" I ask, and she chuckles.
"Only for a while. But we couldn't resist each other so we're back together" Jasmine explains, before kissing Hayden on the cheek and he smiles.
Jasmine leans over further and begins kissing his lips, and I sit there awkwardly while they make out.
Hayden then lightly pushes her away, and she stares at him confused. "We're in public. And Charlotte is right there" Hayden chuckles awkwardly, while nodding his head in my direction.
Jasmine giggles before placing a kiss on his neck. "She doesn't care, "She tells him, before sucking on his neck while I sit there wishing I ignored Jasmine's call and ran to the library, where I would have been safe from..this.
I notice Hayden looks quite uncomfortable, and he uses his hands to gently push her away. "Stop Jasmine. Not here" He mumbles, and Jasmine rolls her eyes before turning away and grabbing her phone.
"You're no fun. Go fuck off to your basketball friends" Jasmine scowls, and Hayden sighs before grabbing his tray. "I'll see you later okay?" Hayden tells her, and Jasmine doesn't even spare him a glance.
"Mhm" She hums, eyes glued to the phone in her hand. Hayden stands up, and mumbles a 'goodbye' before walking away with his tray in hand and his bag hung on one of his shoulders.
"Can you believe him?" Jasmine says as soon as he's out of ear range. "We just got back together yet he wont let me kiss him. What an asshole" Jasmine mutters before grabbing a piece of lettuce from her small container of salad, and biting down on it harshly while she glares in the direction Hayden walked off in.
"I think he just didn't want to do anything too intimate in front of people" I explain to her, but she rolls her eyes. "He's being dramatic" Jasmine mutters.
"He was clearly uncomfortable Jas. Mabey talk to him and see if he's okay with you kissing him like that in public. Not everyone likes PDA" I say before taking a bite of my sandwich.
"Oh you sweet innocent child" Jasmine chuckles, and I stare at her confused. "What?" I mumble, and she simply smiles. "You'll understand when you get a boyfriend" Jasmine assures me, and I'm even more confused than before.
"Understand what-"
"Guess what?" Jasmine grins, changing the subject completely. "On Saturday I'm getting my nails, lashes and hair done. Usually, I get them done on separate days but I'm changing it up this time" Jasmine smiles, but I frown.
"I'm thinking of getting silver glitter that like, fades into dark red. You know what I mean?" Jasmine says as she examines her nails which currently have beautiful navy acrylic on them.
"But we had plans on Saturday. You were meant to come over to my house remember?" I mumble, and she shrugs.
"We can reschedule. No big deal" Jasmine tells me.
"But it's-" I begin, but she cuts me off. "Fuck I forgot I had detention. Shit, I have to go" Jasmine tells me, as she quickly grabs her bag from under the table and stands up.
She quickly runs out of the cafeteria, and I stare at her in sadness as she runs away.
"-my birthday. No big deal though" I mumble, as I stab my mac and cheese with the plastic fork.
How could she forget my birthday?
A tray is suddenly placed in front of me, startling me, and I look up from my tray to see who it is.
"Now what's a pretty girl like you doing with a frown on your face?" Cameron teases as per usual, and I blush a bit at the nickname he seems to have gotten into a habit of calling me.
"Nothing. Don't worry about it" I tell him, and shoot him a small smile.
"Are you worried about the big english quiz we have today as well?" Cameron asks, and my smile vanishes and my heart drops.
"We have a quiz?" I ask, panic starting to build in my stomach at the fact I forgot to study for the quiz.
"No, but it was fun seeing you panic" Cameron tells me, and I scowl while flipping him off. "Very funny" I mutter, and he grins before taking a bite of his food.
"Where's Noah?" I ask since most of the time they are always together. "Getting something from his locker. I don't know what's taking him so long" Cameron tells me, while turning his head and scanning the line of students waiting for a tray of lunch.
"You seem to be in a good mood" I note, and he smiles. "Because today's going great. Our maths teacher was out. Spanish teacher was out. And our history teacher had a meeting so he just let us go on our phones. And now I'm talking to this really cute brunette-"
"Shut up" I laugh, and he smiles. "What about you?" He asks, and I sigh. "Was going great till I had to watch Jasmine and Hayden stick their tongues down each other's throats" I tell him, and he grimaces.
"Glad I missed that" He mumbles, and I laugh a bit at his facial expressions.
We sit in comfortable silence for the next few minutes while we eat our food without any disruptions.
"Are you doing anything on Saturday?" Cameron asks, and I look at him a bit confused.
"Just staying at home"I answer, and he looks at me a bit surprised. "You're not going out?" He questions and I shake my head.
"Why would I go out on Saturday?" I ask him, and he stares at me in disbelief.
"Don't tell me you forgot your own birthday," Cameron says, and I stare at him in surprise. "How did you know that?" I mumble.
"The first week of school Noah asked when's your birthday. You said November ninth, aka. Saturday" Cameron shrugs.
"You remembered that?" I ask, still unable to comprehend how he remembered such a small fact about me.
"Of course" Cameron chuckles, and I can't help but smile.
At least one of my friends remembered.
"I don't really like parties or going to clubs, I prefer staying home. So that's probably what I'll end up doing" I shrug, and he nods. "Same. Get me a pizza and put in a movie and I'm as happy as can be" Cameron says, and I smile and nod my head in agreement, before turning back and finishing my leftover food.
I then notice Noah walking towards us and I shoot him a smile. He places his tray down beside Cameron, before sitting down.
He shoots us both a small smile before his face drops into a frown and he looks down at the content on his tray.
"Are you okay?" Cameron asks, and Noah turns to us and nods. "Yeah, just tir,ed" Noah tells us, and we nod.
"Not surprising. You stay up till five am and wake two hours later" Cameron teases, while lightly nudging Noah's arm.
Noah rolls his eyes and grins a bit. "It's my fantastic sleep scedual. Took me months to get it just right" He says sarcastically, and Cameron rolls his eyes playfully while I snicker at Noah's sarcastic answer.
