Christmas

In the early morning hours of Christmas, before even Sirius had stirred, a pop sounded in Fawn's bedroom. Her room was lit with Muggle fairy-lights and some tinsel was hung around the windows. The bed itself was messy, the blankets in a jumbled mess as the girl who slept in it's limbs were half under and half over the sheets.

This peace didn't last long though. The pop startled her and she instinctively reached for the wand that laid on the chestnut colored bedside table.

"Petrificus Totalus," she hissed, wand pointed at the intruder. Said intruder fell stiffly to the floor, hitting their face against the bed's footboard with a deafening crunch. It served whoever it was right for breaking and entering. Besides, a broken nose could always be fixed.

The intruder groaned in pain. Fawn pushed away covers and slipped out of the warmth to investigate though she'd be perfectly content not to. It was Christmas after all. She could deal with a potential Death-Eater on a later date as long as they stayed frozen. But alas, she was already up and the potential Death-Eater was bleeding onto her white duvet.

The low lighting showed what looked like a young man, face-down, broken nose still against the end of the bed, the rest of their body still frozen diagonally, feet on the floor.

She sighed. "If you are trying to kill me, the least you could do is not ruin my bedding, you know?" Obviously they didn't respond.

Fawn grabbed them by their shoulders and turned them around. What a mistake she had made. Instead of a murder she was faced with Regulus Black.

What a git. He could've sent a warning!

Fawn covered her face to conceal a frustrated scream. Regulus was still frozen, staring up at her with a blank face.

Once Fawn's mental breakdown was over she flicked her wand and released Regulus of his binding. Perhaps she should've positioned him on the floor first. His head thonked against the wooden footboard before his body hit the carpet with a dull, heavy thud.

"Shit. Reg I'm so sorry!"

He groaned and pushed himself in an upright position before sending the deadliest glare he could in her direction as a response. "Yeah, you should be," he muttered painfully, "It's not like I god anodder horcrux or anything."

"You did?"

"Quiet!" hissed Regulus. "It's like you want to wake them. Merlin."

"Sorry. You did?" she asked again much more quietly.

From the satchel to his left, Regulus pulled out a small golden cup. It shone beautifully, in the warm lighting.

"Hufflepuff's cup," Fawn whispered as realization washed over her.

"Precisely." Regulus bit back sharply, still very much pissed at having his nose broken and being put under a full-body-bind jinx. His nose was still gushing blood but because it wasn't on her bed, Fawn no longer cared apparently.

"I dink da odder one is Ravendaws diadem."

"Brillant!" Fawn's eyes sparkled at the idea. "But hasn't it been missing for centuries?"

   "Yes."

"Well how will we find it then?"

"I don' know bud id be easier withoud a broken nose, Fawn."

"Shit," she muttered again before whispering episkey.

"Took you long enough."

  "Sorry!"

Regulus waved her off. "Whatever. The point is, I don't know where the diadem is, just that it is most definitely a horcrux."

At that moment the bedroom door burst open to reveal Sirius Black with a Santa hat on, and nothing else but his boxers. He then proceeded to run and jump on Fawn's bed.

"HAPPY CHRISTMAS, FAWNIE!"

Fawn had never been more grateful to be out of bed than she was then.

Sirius frowned when he realized his surprise attack was unsuccessful. Instead of leaving, he just slumped onto the pillows and crashed.

Regulus and Fawn shared a mischievous glance. Remus had heard the shouting and entered the hallway to see the pair heading to the bathroom with a large pail. They motioned for him to join and of course, Remus was not one to pass up the chance to prank his boyfriend.

The sink water was frigid. It was perfect.

The three of them carefully moved back to the bedroom and hovered over Sirius' sleeping form. Remus used his free hand to count down from three. The water flooded over the raven-haired prankster, shocking him into an upright position instantly.

"HAPPY CHRISTMAS, SIRIUS!" All three shouted twice as loud as he had. Hopefully the neighbors didn't call the landlord on them.

Sirius looked around him, completely disoriented for a moment. His wide eyes narrowed to slits when he understood what had happened. "I was supposed to prank you!"

Regulus snorted, "You failed, brother."

  "I'm cold."

  "Good," laughed Remus.

Sirius held out his hands for a hug but Remus refused. "No, no, it's Christmas Moony, you're hugging me!" Sirius stood and chased after Remus who went away screaming in a very non-Remus-like fashion.

Regulus grinned. "This is loads better than my Christmases at home."

"Loads," agreed Fawn, listening as Remus screamed again, clearly having failed at out-running his soaking wet lover.

I know this is a short chapter but it's fluffy so I don't particularly care.
