He waited. He kept on coming back to the same rooftop, with a tiny bit of hope for a chance to apologize.

Days passed, days turned into weeks and weeks turned into months.

She never showed up again. Calum never had the balls to stop by, even if she's just a floor below.

But today he decided to.

He nervously tapped his fingers on the counter while waiting for the front desk lady to come back. It took him too long to apologize.

Minutes after, Fray appeared from the back of the gigantic bookshelves. She looked happy seeing him; no hint of anger or hatred.

Mumbles of apologies came from Calum's mouth. She asked why is he saying sorry.

"For being a douche to you. And it took me months to actually say sorry." He can't help but to look away. He did it while sipping his black coffee, so she wouldn't know if it is because of the bitter taste or because he pities her.

Fray was too familiar of these faces. "Where did you learn?"

"Learned what?" Calum pretended. He doesn't want her to know.

"My story. Who told you?"

"I- Do you think i am apologizing because i learned about your story?"

"Well, that's how it works for me."
