Vivien came out immediately I left, I guess she didn't need much time to gather herself.

She held my hand and led the way. I worn the most beautiful smile and my eyes were gleaming.

When we got to our garden, I stopped and plucked a beautiful red flower.

"I'd give this to mom", I said while looking at the flower.

Vivien just smiled at me.

"Why aren't you coming with us Vivien?" I asked with sad eyes.

"I have a lot to do at home sweetie, but not to worry, I'll take you to the beach next weekend", she promised.

Upon hearing what she said, it bubbled up the butterflies in my belly again, I've never been to the beach before.

I took her hand and placed a kiss on it and she let out a loud laugh which also made me laugh.

We got to the front of our porch where I was supposed to meet mom and dad, I could see the car mom and dad were in, the black SUV, I smiled from a far upon seeing them.

I didn't know if they smiled back because of the evening sun rays casted on the windscreen, preventing me from seeing their faces.

I was anxiously waiting without noticing the fuel tanker that passed by us.

The next image I saw in front of me felt like a movie or maybe a dream because I couldn't believe what just unfolded before my eyes.

The tanker and my parents' car collided, it fell on the car and crushed it, as if that wasn't enough it exploded, setting the car on fire.

The hand that was holding mine weren't there anymore, I turned around and found Vivien on the floor.

Was she dead? I didn't know.

I didn't know who to turn to, Vivien laying down motionless on the ground or my parents being burnt to death.

I made my decision and ran towards my parents, before I could take a second step, a strong arm grabbed me, restraining me from getting close to the scene.

It was an officer.

I was struggling to get out of his grip but he was too strong for my small body.

I kicked, punched and hit but none was working, I was getting exhausted from my action, I just kept screaming as if that was all I needed to do.

All of a sudden, voices and sounds became distant, my vision blurry and my body weak like it had no life, I passed out.

I woke up in a room.

I tried to open my eyes but they were heavy, the room was too bright and the light that penetrated into my eyes made them burn in pains.

I struggled until my eyes got used to the brightness.

I looked around my surrounding, the room was white with so many bright lights and I could hear voices from a far.

'Where am I?' I thought.

I looked to my right, there was a cupboard beside the bed where I laid, there was a glass of water on the cupboard and beside the glass of water was a tray filled with injecting needles and tablets.

I was staring at it before I came to realization that I was at the hospital.

"You can drink the water if you want to", I was startled by a female voice and turned to where the voice came from, it was a lady dressed in white seated by my left, by her dress I could tell she was a nurse.

'Why is everything around here white?', I asked myself in silence.

"Where are my parents?", I asked her.

"Why don't you drink the glass of water and take the tablets, it will help reduce any pain", she said, ignoring my question.

I swung my legs down and took the glass of water, every movement my body made ached badly, I had no choice other than to swallow the tablets.

I looked at her and she smiled.

"Come with me", she said, and with eagerness, I followed her. She took me into another room, it was also white and there was a man in lab coat standing.

I saw my parents, they were burnt.

I couldn't tell if they were dead or alive.

"Mom!!", I screamed as I tried to run to her bed but the nurse held me back and I yanked her hands off me.

She tried to get hold of me again but the man in lab coat told her to let me be.

I ran and sat on the bed, I took my mom's hands in mine and held them.
