Chapter 17: Golden Hedgehogs

With the Great Eggman Robot's foot brought down, Tails, Knuckles, and Robotnik believed Sonic, Tris, and the Wachowskis to be dead. However, the Great Eggman Robot suddenly jerked up, with its foot being lifted by Sonic and Tris, now transformed into Super Sonic and Super Tris, while Tails, Knuckles, and the Wachowskis, who are still alive and well, watching.

Blasting through the Great Eggman Robot's foot, Super Sonic cuts its head off and the twins say, "It's over, Eggman!"

As Robotnik tried talking them into a truce, however, he used his control glove to have the Great Eggman Robot take punches at them. Tris effortlessly stopped and blew the robot's arms to pieces before piercing it several times at super-speed before toppling it over with a tap of her foot, leaving Robotnik to fall with his collapsing robot.

As Super Sonic and Super Tris came back down, the Wachowskis came towards them, Sonic! Tris!" They yelled out their names.

Suddenly, Knuckles stopped them, "Wait! Sonic and Tris have been corrupted by the power of the Chaos Emeralds now. That's not the real Sonic and Tris you once knew!"

Then Super Sonic proceeded to summon a thunderstorm that focuses on his hand. However, it is then revealed that Sonic only made a chili dog for himself, before summoning another one for Tris, and unfortunately, Knuckles lands in his face, which annoys him.

"Well, that's still them..." He said awkwardly.  Super Sonic and Super Tris subsequently relinquished the Chaos Emeralds, which disappear to parts unknown, and reverted to normal.

After getting hugs from Tom and Maddie, Sonic and Tris were asked by Tails why they gave up all that power, to which Sonic explained that they still have some growing up to do.

As they celebrate, Knuckles took the pieces of the Master Emerald and reassembles them. However, now that he finally has the Master Emerald, Knuckles questions what they will do next. As Tails reminded them that both the echidnas and owls wanted to protect the Master Emerald from the forces of evil, Sonic and Tris suggested that they start a new order to guard the Master Emerald, starting with the four of them.

As Knuckles insisted that they must take a vow upon their new tribe's duty, Tails has them do a power-bump together to mark their oath.
