for the next week, Mary Kate felt it was her duty to stay by your side, every second.

she slept next to you in bed, staying up late into the night after you had already fallen asleep just making sure that you weren't going anywhere.

you hadn't acknowledged the baby after that night.

which was alarming to Mary Kate

one particular day, Mary Kate had left you on your own so you could take nap.

when you reappeared in the living room 40 minutes later

you were angry, and fully dressed as if you were going somewhere

when Mary Kate noticed you heading for the door she jumped in front of it shielding it with her body

"hey," she said you didn't look at her "hey," she said with a little more force making your eyes meet hers

"what's wrong where are you going"

"I'm going to get an abortion" you started trying not to let your voice crack from the sobs you were holding back

MK's expression softened

"what?" was all she got out. she was in shock

"I can't live without Ashley... I have to get an abortion" something about the way you deliver this statement. she knew this wasn't what you wanted

something in he became angry

suddenly she moved away from the door to your surprise. but she didn't offer to drive you to a clinic, she offered to take you to see Ashley.

"tell her what you told me" Mary Kate ordered throwing you into the house

Ashley was shocked by your presence., she didn't know whether or not to kiss you or slap you across the face

"I'm getting an abortion" you stated confidently, although every time those words left your mouth you swore you felt a slight flutter in your stomach

"that great y/n, think that's-" Ashley started only for Mary Kate to shove her finger in her sisters face

"tell her why" Mary K's voice was stern and rigid. she really was upset

"because I can't live without you-" Mary Kate snapp[ed. the only reason she hadn't told you this the second she heard your words the first time was because Ashley needed to hear what she had to say on her behalf

"Listen to me" she looked at you and then she turned to Ashley" both of you look at me" she ordered

"Ashley does not own you anything, this is your baby, and if you want to keep it you will." she looked you in your eyes. her words brought tears to your eyes.

"she won't leave you, you know why?" she looked between the two of you

"because she can't live without you" she spat her words like venom at Ashley

this brought tears to Ashley's eyes. she couldn't believe Mary Kate said that, though it was true.

Ashley was furious,

she briskly walked over to her sister and slapped her hard across her face, she was lost in the heat of it all.

she stormed into her sister's back bedroom leaving just Mary Kate and you in the living area

you put a hand on Mary Kate's back

"MK?" you asked gently

Mary Kate had yet to turn back to you

she sniffed and put her hand up to her sore cheek, she composed herself quickly before turning back to you.

"do you really want me to take you to a clinic" was all she said when she pulled herself together enough to look you in the eyes without crying.

you simply nodded your head

"ok" she sighted running her fingers threw her hair letting in one last big breath of air

she told you to go wait in the car and you saw her heading for the room where Ashley disappeared a few minutes before

form your spot in the passenger seat of the car you could see through the open window the two of them fighting

you hated watching it. you closed your eyes and began to hum gently to yourself

knowing they're in the housing fighting over you made you feel small and erratic, it made you feel the same way you felt when you would hear your mom and stepdad fighting when you were a little girl.

"no I don't want to see her, I don't want to look at her" Ashley yelled

Mary Kate was confused, something must have happened when she was gone because Ashley was spiraling out of control

it wasn't the relationship he had expected, she knew giving her sister time alone in the house and time without you would allow her to sit with her emotions, allowing her to comprehend all the built-up emotions she had been holding in over the span of the last few months

Mary Kate stopped screaming at her sister to study her hurt and conflicted face

"what happened" Mary Kate's voice was soft and gentle.

"I went to y/n's apartment, to get her mail" Ashley's voice had softened as she sat on the side of the bed now joined by her sister

"Courtney's been sending her letters" she inhaled sharply "shes trying to drive y/n and I apart, she saw this as a moment of weakness and seized the opportunity to drive a wedge between us, I thought she was making everything up until she said something" Ashley pulled a few of the letters out of her purse looking through them until she found the one she was searching for.

"they slept together, y/n cheated on me" she looked hurt

"oh hon" Mary Kaste immediately pulled Ashley into a tight hug

as you watched from the car you were so confused

you never understood sisters, how insanely weird the relationship is.

ashley just slapped her sister across the face and now she's crying in her arms. it just doesn't make any sense.

"you know you cant talk to her about this right now? you know that right" Mary Kat said seriously when the two of them pulled apart slightly

Ashley only nodded sniffing slightly.

"it was so long ago, I'm not even that mad about her sleeping with Courtney, I mean the two of us weren't even that serious, I guess I'm just upset that she didn't feel the need to tell me"

a few minutes later Mary Kate walked back out to the car, huge turtle shell sunglasses covering her red and puffy eyes.

As she was buckling up she realized that you had a perfect view of the window from where she was sitting

sh returned to look at you.

"you better have a fucking good explanation" she started bitterly putting the car in start before pulling out of the driveway.
