Lily finally returns and sets the snacks down on the coffee table. I suddenly realize that we should never have started this movie-even though it's amazing and I really wanted to see it.
Now all I can think about is kissing Lily, and I know she won't want to do that, so I have to sit there, pretending like there's nothing on my mind.
When she asks, "Is everything okay?" I tell her, "Yeah. I'm just...hungry."
Then I reach for a bowl of Cheeze-it's and eat a couple to prove my point. I wasn't really that hungry but if she knew what was going through my head right now, she'd probably kick me out of the house. That is, if her parents didn't first.
