After what felt like days of unpacking I decided I would head into town and check out the bookstores. I always enjoyed reading a book, I liked that it could take you away from real life and just for a minute you could imagine you were in the book, that life wasn't as complicated and difficult as it was feeling, you could pretend you were the girl in the book, who had a castle and horses.. life seemed simple it books.
I'd managed to find the cutest store, it was called 'Just one more chapter' there was something about the name that I just liked, because I to wish I could just read one more chapter, one more moment of not being in real life.
The bookstore smelt like coffee and old books, like I could smell each page.. it was a little crazy, books just placed everywhere and anywhere, but I liked it..
At the back of the shop was a small little coffee area, few tables and chairs.. this placed seemed so relaxed, maybe I could get used to this place after all.I'd finally managed to find some books that looked right for me, I was into mystery, adventure and crime.. I liked a story that kept me excited, that kept me on my toes.
I decided to grab and coffee and check out my new buys, as I sat down a bright bubbly voice from behind me spoke.."hey you are new here right?" As I turned I realised it was the pink haired girl from the grill.. "hey, yeah I am" I muttered, I wasn't a big people person.. but I also didn't want to come across rude. "I'm Lyra, can I join?" She said with a massive smile on her face, she was like a ball of sunshine.. bright, loud, just full of everything I wasn't, happiness. "Sure. I'm Ava" I replied, "what brings you to Newhollow?" She questioned whilst sipping her coffee, "Needed a fresh start" I replied not wanting to give to much away. "Ah I see, you starting a Newhollow high Monday?" She asked, still happy as anything.. "yeah, I am.. I'm nervous" I responded, she looked at me with this huge smile still beeming off her face.. "don't be Ava, just look for me. Anyways, I got to go. See you Monday new bestie" she happily said before giving me a hug and heading off.
Lyra seemed like a lovely girl, but she was everything I wasn't.. she was full of colours where as my colours were black and white.
I decided to head home after spending sometime checking out different shops, I sat in the garden on the swing which faced this beautiful river and decided to start reading my book.. 'the love is lost for those who never find it' something about that spoke to me.
I was starting to realise that maybe Newhollow was kind of beautiful, I judged it straight away but it's cloudy, rainy, damp and dark.. but that was me.. because I was cold, cloudy.. my soul was empty, I hated people.. I hated myself.. but maybe I could find myself or something here.Maybe the dark Newhollow would be the colour for me.
