A/N this is a filler chapter. You don't need to read it but it gives a bit of information on Elys past and tells us a bit about the trauma she went through.

Elyria

"Don't touch her!" My mum screamed. Wait what's happening? I opened my eyes to see my dad stood in front of me. With that evil smirk on his face, like always. The smirk that terrified me.

"Shut up!" He shouted back at her, frightening the both of us. "You're okay aren't you hm?" He kneels down and pats me on my head.  I'm lying on the floor while my heads pounding. No I'm not okay.

I was no longer standing and arguing with him like a few minutes ago, which means he must've done it to me again. "Talk bitch!" He slapped me across the face, making my eyesight blurry once again.

"Y-yes dad, I'm okay."

"Good. Your mother's too sensitive, I taught you a lesson that's all. You know that right?"

I nodded, he looked back at my mum wondering why she's so silent all of a sudden. Only to realise she was attempting to call someone. He stormed over to her and pushed her so her back would slam against the wall, making her slide down onto the floor. He grabbed her phone and hung up quickly. "You called the police? You dumb whore!".

Punch.

Slap.

Kick.

Punch.

Slap.

Kick.

"Elyria! Wake up!"

I jolted awake while looking around frantically. My entire body was sweating while I felt like I couldn't breath. Panic attack.

"Hey you're okay." Kai said in a reassuring tone while holding me in his arms. Although I felt dazed, I could hear him telling me to breathe in through my nose, out through my mouth. I done it over and over until I felt more relaxed.

"What happened?" I ask him quietly.

"You had another nightmare." He sighs while grabbing the glass of water from my bedside table and giving it to me. I took a few sips before lying back down.

"Oh." Was all I could say. Kai didn't understand the full story of what happened back then. He was never home and to avoid him feeling even more guilty, my mum and I kept the details limited.
