⭑ so basically, i had the next chapter to be planned as a collection of short stories and this chapter is kinda that but not really LOL like i had four short stories written out and as i reread them i realized they'd do better as a chapter on their own so that's what this is!! so this chapter picks up where the last one ended :)

Your eyes flutter open and your vision is blurry at first.
But you recognized your surroundings.
You were in the girl's bunks in the cadets.
The cadets? Why am I still here?
But as you blinked a few more times and things became clearer, so did your mind.
Why wouldn't I be here?
You close your eyes again and roll over to lay on your back. You were still half asleep and tried dozing off again.
You felt so physically tired but it made sense to why you were. Your sleep schedule was so fucked because of the cleaning punishment Shadis gave you and Jean to do.
So you tried to savor this moment in the morning as you remember the events of last night.
You cleaned that hall with Jean, talked to Eren and found Jean again in the woods at the cliff.
Arguably to just Jean, that third event was your favorite part about last night. Being so close to Jean like that and finally getting your final sorries out of the way felt more than right.
It finally felt like you and Jean could begin your new beginning.
No more bullshit. No more Armin. No more Annie.
Just no more problems getting in your way.
You knew better than anyone Jean couldn't be your boyfriend and that you couldn't really have a relationship with him even if it was what you wanted deep down.
