I made decisions that I regret, and I took them as learning experiences... I'm human, not perfect, like anybody else.

My new Spanish translator and I went to another business party in Cuba on Wednesday.

Today was a good opportunity to gain new investors from Latin America and Felipe promised to introduce me to a few ones.

There was this unsettling feeling inside my chest the whole way there and even when entering the venue.

The argument I had with Sophia was still fresh in my mind and I was still unhappy with the way things ended.

I've been gone for a few days after our argument and I was wondering how to face her when I come back.

Carolina, my translator, helped me have multiple conversations with very promising investors.

Everything was going smoothly until I noticed Carolina tense and her face going pale while talking to Mariano.

"Is everything alright?" She looked at me and then at Mariano. He was smiling at me as he always did.

"Can I have a word with you, Mr. Reed? In private?" Carolina whispered and that got me frowning in concern.

She professionally smiled at Mariano and we both excused ourselves.

I didn't understand what was happening. The conversation with Mariano went well. We discussed several project ideas and exchanged information about the progress. Nothing out of the ordinary.

"Mr. Reed, I'm sorry that I had to interrupt the conversation that way but I do not feel comfortable with Mr. Mariano." She looked nervous and definitely uncomfortable.

"And why is that?" The unsettling feeling was back.

"While you were talking to Mr. Hunter, Mr. Mariano kept making inappropriate remarks about my body. It's not my first time encountering this but Sir., he crossed the line when asking if I slept with you too and what happened to the previous one. As you are well aware I am happily married and I have a small girl back home. My job is to translate but tolerating such remarks I believe is too much for me."

I was honestly speechless.

Sophia's words came back to me like a tornado and I realized at that moment that I made a terrible mistake.

"Carolina I had no idea he was saying those things to you. Because I don't understand the language I assumed you were simply having an amicable conversation. Please tell me what I can do for you?"

"There's no need to do anything special. But I figured you'd like to know this. I am proud of my job and I've never done such things to get where I am."
