ATHELIA HARROWS, played by young madchen amick, has a shaggy, dark ginger wolf cut, freckles, and an amazing smile - as her friends say. She is an eighteen year old girl who was raised in London, and moved to Hawkins, Indiana in 1980. She kept in contact with her best friend Katie from her old school in England, and they are still close as they were.

In the three years of being in Hawkins, some of her closest friends include Nancy Wheeler and her younger brother Mike

In the three years of being in Hawkins, some of her closest friends include Nancy Wheeler and her younger brother Mike. And until the events of last year, Athelia was friends with Barbra Holland, until she 'disappeared', as the police say - although the small group knew what really happened.

During her last year at Hawkins, Athelia had to face challenges such as fighting other-worldly creatures, keeping kids from the middle school out of danger, and losing one of her close friends.

But in her mind, the toughest thing she was to do was befriend Steve Harrington. He was a popular pain in the ass guy, always out partying or playing basket ball. If it wasn't for the literal life-or-death situation she was in Athelia would've preferred to shove her axe right into his thick headed brain.

But over the drama of saving local missing boy Will Byers, Steve and Athelia bonded, and discovered that they could actually tolerate each other whilst their lives were at stake. Since then, the two became friends - best friends, one could say.

Now Athelia had turned eighteen in the summer, her parents gave her the option of leaving Hawkins and returning to London with them, or remaining with her current friends alone

Now Athelia had turned eighteen in the summer, her parents gave her the option of leaving Hawkins and returning to London with them, or remaining with her current friends alone. Of course, she was given a few days to think about the big decision, and she spoke to a few friends about it.

Most of which told her to do which ever she wanted, and that they would remain in touch with her no matter what she decided to do. But Steve Harrington was quite adamant that he wanted- no, he needed her to stay in Hawkins. He gave the reason that he now had no other friends besides Athelia and Nancy, and even then Nancy annoyed him sometimes. Steve said that he would try to keep in contact, but he had a fear that the two would drift apart slowly until they were only strangers to each other.

In the end, Athelia decided to stay with her friends, and watch over them in case anything else from the Upside Down came back to hurt them. She couldn't bare the thought of them in danger and her being across the ocean, unable to help those she loved.

So, here she was, about to start senior year in High School, and then move on with her life, and she couldn't be more excited. Nothing could ruin her year. All the drama was long gone in the past.
