• Take Note - You are Anne's twin sibling who was left behind in Amphibia at the end of True Colors.

• Plot - You start feeling sad and homesick without Anne by your side.  Darcy tries to help.

-Actual One Shot-

*Your POV*

I leaned onto a small balcony that overlooked the city of Newtopia.

Amphibia turned gray and dead after King Andrias took control with his machines.

I would've cared more if I wasn't to busy thinking about my friends and family. I missed Sasha, Marcy, and especially my twin—Anne.

I had been alone in the floating castle, seeing King Andrias from time to time.  That was, until Darcy had introduced themselves to me.

When I met them, I was terrified.  Their orange eyes freaked me out.  And the fact that they sounded just like Marcy didn't help at all.  I avoided them at all costs.  That was a few weeks ago.  Over the time that I was stuck with them, things changed.  I grew to be less scared of them.  I slowly stopped being timid and shy and began being more confident and responsible on my own.

If only Anne could see how much more I've grown here on my own.

I hadn't noticed that I'd started tearing up as I starting thinking about all of the things I missed.  I also didn't notice the footsteps approaching me from behind.

"Hello there, Y/n." Darcy suddenly appeared beside me, a small smile present on their face as they looked at me.  I jumped at the sound of someone talking, before calming down, sighing.

"Hey." I mumbled in reply, quickly trying to wipe my tears away before they saw.  I didn't want Darcy to make fun of me or laugh.  That was the last thing I needed.  "What do you want?" I asked, not looking directly at them.  When they didn't reply I glanced at them, only to freeze up when I realized that they were carefully watching my expressions.

"You are...crying." Darcy commented, squinting their many eyes and tilting their head in confusion.  "This is a sign of distress.  Why are you upset?"

I felt my eyes tear up again when Darcy asked me that.

"Oh, I'm just..." I paused, trying not to cry,"...just missing my friends...and my home."  I tried to wipe my tears away again, but it wouldn't work.  "It's not important to you, so don't worry
about it—" I stopped talking when they wiped away my tears with their hand.

"If something is important to you, it is important for us as well." They replied, before taking my hand.  "Let us go to the kitchen.  We are certain that Marcy's favorite cupcakes will help you feel better." Darcy began explaining all of the things we could do together to try and clear my mind.  I smiled at them in appreciation for trying to understand.  It was...nice.

I stopped walking and hugged them for a few seconds.

"Thank you, Darcy." I whispered, exhaling in relief.  I smiled a little more when I felt them hug back.

"You're welcome, Y/n."

I felt better already.
