he frowned, and stared at his mother to make sure she knew how frustrated she had just made him.
"what?" she asked, finishing washing the plate.
"you know i don't like her." he complained.
"she's a sweet girl, adam. she does have anger issues, maybe, but she's a nice girl."
"she sucks."
"you know i can't get another babysitter. i-"
"-don't have the time."
"i'm sorry, adam."
"i hate her."
"hate is a strong word."
"i hate her."
the doorbell interrupted his speech, and he took one last deep breath and muttered curses.
his mother stood, and went to go open the door and greet cherry, who was on the other side.
because cherry's dad was always working, she was always alone.
she found that one way to cure her boredom was to completely fill her schedule.
that way she would be too overwhelmed to think.
