"Hey Mae I have a huge surprise for you" Matt said turning his head to me
We were currently laying in his bed
"Can I see it" I said sitting up
"I'll go get it stay here" he said running out of the room
He opened the door and moved out of the way
And I saw him. The boy that always took the blame when I got in trouble. The boy that snuck me out of the basement when I got locked there. The boy that gave me the clothes off his back.
"Cooper" I said softly
"Hey Mae" he whispered with tears falling out of his eyes
I froze, I didn't know what to do, for the past 3 years I thought he was dead.
"I thought you were dead" I choked out
He walked over to me embracing me in his tattooed arms
I broke. I cried and cried into his chest
"Where have you been" I said as he sat across from me in the sturniolos living room
"I've been in and out of rehab for a year and I'm still struggling with fighting addiction and mental illnesses" he said looking down
"Y-you promised me you would stay clean" I said feeling a stinging in my throat
Matt had left to Chris's room to give us privacy
"I did I stayed clean for a while but three years ago I went to go see you so I went to moms house.. and she told me you were dead and everything went downhill from there" he mumbled obviously ashamed of himself
" i can't even be mad right now when I'm going through the same thing" I said laughing at myself
"Your what" he said obviously taken back
"Mom told me you overdosed so I tried the same and last time I tried Matt saved me" i said really fast
"We'll talk about this another time.. I really missed you" he said sitting beside me
"Me too" I mumbled putting my head on his chest

User I missed a few chapters ^ our mom told me he was dead Vice versa and Matt my lovely boyfriend found him for me after many depressive states and suicide attempts.
