Your POV

Both Vinnie and I came back to the
houses months ago. We've had time
together, and I've been trying my best
to get hold of my father. My real
father, the one that abandoned me to
my abusive foster parents when I was
so young.. It's been complicated, but
with the help of Ms. Johnson, I've
managed to find him.

Today, I'm supposed to meet up with
him. There's a reason why I wanted to
find him. He's the only one who can
sign the papers that will let me free
from the home organization.

Vinnie's been encouraging me and
helped as well. We both were
privileged with small jobs near the
houses and gained enough to buy a
computer. It's been useful, I get it one
day and he gets it the other, but we
secretly make up our own schedule.

I've been growing nervous all week,
waiting for today, I have no idea what
he looks like, all I know is his name,
Chris Argent. I have no idea why he even accepted this meeting... I just hope he'll see something in me?

I'm currently getting ready, I slipped
on a black skater dress. I'm definitely
not used to dressing up like this. I'm
not allowed makeup in here unless I
buy it myself, and since I haven't had
the time and motivation to get any
Ms. Johnson came by to lend me
some.

I brushed some light powdered foundation on my face, used some brow gel and mascara even though my
lashes are already naturally long and
dark. I apply some powdered blush
and some peach-colored lip gloss. I
look at myself in the mirror. I look
different. I've always wore dark art
makeup, I was never interested in this,
much less invested in it.

At this point, all I can do is stare at
myself. Then someone knocks on the
door lightly, I turn my head towards it
as the person opens and enters,
closing behind them. I smile when I
realize it's the one and only Vinnie. He
walks closer to me and crouches so
we're somewhat the same height.

He looks into my eyes, then glances all
around my face, which makes me
giggle. He asks me what's so funny
and I just shrug.

"You look really pretty", he simply states I giggle again.

"Why are you blushing?" he asks
I wrap my arms around his neck
loosely
"I'm not blushing silly, I put blush on"
"you put what..?" I laughed and pushed him back, he gave up trying to figure out what I meant. He pulled me down with him as he fell back against the wooden floor. We kinda just laid there, his head curled up in my chest.

Eventually, I sat up and got off of him
to check the time.
"OH MY GOD VINNIE I'M GONNA BE LATE" I jumped around and he stood up I don't hesitate to sprint out of my
room, but I rush back in as I had
forgotten my tiny shoulder bag.

I sigh and run out again and hop down the stairs and push through the door as

Ms. Johnson pulls into the driveway
honking. I smile and head over to the side of the car, from my room's window I can see Vinnie, leaning. He wave's and smiles my way, I reciprocate and hop shotgun. Ms. Johnson starts driving away and I pull the window down. I let the air hit my face as stress sets itself in my stomach and my heart
starts to sink.

About a 30-minute drive later we pull
up at a cafe and Ms. Johnson stops
the car. She turns to me after
unbuckling. I turn my heads towards
her and parts her lips as to say
something. Closes them again, looking
away, and finally, as she made eye
contact, spoke

"Are you sure about this Allison?" she
asks hesitantly I nod

"I am, you know it's the only way." She sighed and nodded
"let's go then?" she smiled and looked
up at me I acquiesced,
"Yeh, I'm somewhat ready" I chuckled
nervously. She patted my back and rubbed my shoulder
"If you get uncomfortable you know
we can leave right away."

I said yes and we both climbed out of
the vehicle.

This is gonna be tough, let's hope it
goes smoothly.
