Chapter 13

Ashton's POV

When Zyon left the mansion to go to his work, it was only me and Laustre that was left in the mansion.

I tooked a glance at Laustre, a very short glance before concentrating back on finishing my presentation for tomorrow

" What's the matter, master Ashton? I can feel your stares. " he said and turned off the vacuum

" Nothing.. " i said, almost whispering

He walked towards my direction before sitting infront of me.

" Just spill it " he demanded before sipping his tea.

I hesitated but i asked him anyway.

" What would you do if the person you trust and considered as a friend turned their back and b–betrayed you? " i slowy looked and saw him looking at me, his eyes held confusion and some indescribable emotions.

" Mm.. I don't know. It would depend on our relationship, close friend or close friend that i would consider him or her as my younger sibling. But i would probably  be dissapointed and hurt. Who wouldn't? I would probably hate him or i'll just wish that we won't cross each others path again " he replied and asked me

" Why did you suddenly asked me that? "

" Nothing. I just want to warn you though, don't be deceive by what you see. " i said before excusing myself

What would you do now, Regis?!

" Hey! Ashton! What do you mean?! You and Zyon has been acting weird since this morning! Did anything happened? Did i miss something " he said before holding my wrist

" Nothing, don't worry. It was just a friendly reminder. Please, Laustre. " i said before tapping his shoulder.

I dressed in formal attire before going outside

" Where are you going, master Zyon? " he asked, he was wearing a suit and a bow tie

" To school, it's my turn to present my work in front of our panelists today. " i said

" What about you? "

" I'm going to attend a masquerade ball " he said and fixed his suit

" Does it look good? How do i look? "

" All great " i said and raising my thumbs up.

Laustre may not look like it but he's very a meticulous man.

" Want me to drop you off to school? " he offered but i just shook my head and declined his offer

" Thank you but no thanks, you'll be late. I'll just call Vraxx " i said and he nodded before excusing himself.

I called Vraxx phone and he answered after four rings

" Yes? " he answered in his groggy voice.

" Hey, Vraxx. It's me Ashton. Did i wake you up? "

" Ashton.. ashy?! " he exclaimed

" Yeah. Actually i have a favour to ask you " i said over the phone

I heard a squiking sound of mattress then a sound of a water pouring loudly

Is he washing up?

" could you please dropped me off to school? " i asked him

" Huh? What about Zyon? " he asked and i heard him turning off the faucet

" He's at his company now. There was an urgent meeting " i said

" Ok then, send me your address " and i did what he instructed

I was outside the mansion gate when a ducati stopped infront of me.

" Let's go " Vraxx said before handing me an extra helmet.

When i placed myself comfortably he started the engine and started driving.

" Ashy, hold on tight " Vraxx said but i didn't hear him clearly

" What?! " i asked, almost shouting

" Hold on tight! " he shouted and it started me that i unconsciously did what he said

I looked back and saw two cars chasing behind us

" Why the fuck are they chasing us?! " he cursed under his breath

I trembled at the thought of them chasing us because of their secret was revealed and they're here to dispose me, us.

" Let's go to Zyon's company! Be quick! " i shouted before taking out my phone and dialed Zyon's number

I heard him saying hello but it was interrupted by a loud gun shot

" What the fuck! " i cursed.

When i looked at our surrounding there was no other cars around us!

" Damn they have already blocked the road! " i said

" Don't worry, im a racer, remember? " Vraxx said

" Hello?! Fox?! " i heard Zyon's voice on the phone

" Are you alright?! What's happening?! " he said in a worried tone

" We're being chased by his mens! " i shouted emphasizing every word

" What?! "

" We're heading to your company right now! I'm with Vraxx, don't  end this call! Okay?! " i said.

" I'm coming! I can track your phone. Don't worry " he assured me

" What do you mean being chased by his men? What did you get yourself into? " despite the chasing, Vraxx still got enough time to ask a question

" I'll tell you everything later–fuck! " i cursed when they fired another bullet and it almost hit me!

" Are you okay back there, Ashy?! "

" Fox! Are you alright?! "

" Yes! I'm alright! We're near your company now! " i said

I saw some of Men in black standing outside and and pointing their guns and firing them, shooting the car chasers that are following us.

We heard a loud bang followed by a loud explosion. When i looked back, one of the car is now burning in fire while the other one is now retreating leaving his colleagues behind

I saw Zyon rushing to go outside his company.

When i got off from Vraxx motor, i thanked him and returned the helmet and asked one of the men in black if they could help him to get some rest

I turned around and i was greeted by Zyon's embrace.

" Z-Zyon. We're in public " i said

He was still panting hard but he answered me with a sigh of relief

" I thought something terrible happened to you. You made me worried sick! " he sais and his voice broke

I only patted his back to assure him that im alright

" We've already meet each other after so many years. There's no way that i'll let that happen again " i said and smiled at him

He looked at me before nodding and guided me inside his company, up to his office.
