Cʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀ 13: a̸x0lo|t̶ረ

The room was filled with a comfortable silence. You were still inside the grayscape, just you and Bill. You may wonder what you two may be doing. Well, absolutely nothing, I tell you.

You were sitting down with a book in your hand, while Bill had his hand stroking your hair in a comforting manner, you couldn't help but crack a small smile on your face, you never knew that a demon could act so caring, and the fact was that nobody was ever this affectionate towards you made it feel even more special.

It seemed like time had stopped just for a few seconds. It was peaceful, but of course, nothing good would ever last when you suddenly felt a shiver down your spine. You were a bit surprised by the sudden sensation, Bill felt your discomfort, and his hand departed from your hair. "It seems your body is forcing itself to wake up," he paused, looking down at you. "Maybe next time?" If he had a face, you would know that he was smiling, and you couldn't help but feel your heart flutter. He was a demon, a triangle for God's sake, yet he was able to make you feel at ease.

You realized that you hadn't spoken a reply, and you flushed in embarrassment. "A-ah- yes.. next time." You muttered rather sadly. Bill felt your displeasure but didn't comment on it. "I'll see you soon, Sunflower," he said dryly while giving you one last head pat before you could feel your body waking up.

Your body jolted awake, and you could find yourself still in the same place you were before. Not that you were surprised, though. Nearly the whole town knew what had happened, and after that scandal, who would want to go near you since they thought you were someone untrustworthy? Well, at least you had those two, despite them being not human and all, but it didn't bother you to say the least, at least you had companions, and that was all you needed.

After a brief silence and thoughts flooding your mind, you suddenly felt something wet fall on top of your head and you looked up to see the clear blue sky turning dark and gloomy, your previous thoughts were put aside when you realized it was going to rain very soon. You clicked your tongue out of annoyance, you weren't that near to the shack, and you doubted you would return dry and clean, but you wasted no time beginning to run off towards the shack to at least have a chance to make it back on time.

As you ran and tried your best to avoid muddy grounds and roots that spread to the surface, you couldn't help but frown in frustration when you could feel the raindrops dropping at a faster speed and you could see the droplets dropping to your clothing and making the cloth slightly soaked. You hated being drenched in water. You were the type of person who wanted to keep things clean, yet when it came to house chores, you didn't want to do it.

Your thoughts were abrupt when you could feel the wind picking up, which meant the rain was coming down harder, and you groaned in annoyance. Upon running a little faster, you accidentally tripped on a small tree stump, resulting in your clothes getting muddy and dirty. "Great, just great." You muttered under your breath sarcastically while slowly getting up and continuing to go back to the shack, at this point you didn't care if you were drenched with rain water and that your clothes were dirtied by mud, you were walking slowly as the rain began to fall harder and all you could hear was the rain, and nothing more than the rain.

As a few minutes went by, you finally reached the shack that had remained quiet in the harsh weather, the shack had a bright glow coming from inside the building that made it look ominous in the gloomy atmosphere. You let out a sneeze before making your way inside the shack, upon opening the door, you were met inside the gift shop where you could see Wendy in the cash register, she was scrolling through her phone before eyeing the front door and was surprised to see you, you looked at her for a few seconds before looking away, the atmosphere was quite tensed.
