3rd Person POV

Lizzie Saltzman opens the door to reveal an injured Sadie Nightshade. "Oh my god, are you okay?" She questions, her eyes widening at Sadie's blood soaked shirt and the limp in her step

"Getting there." Sadie groans through her teeth, stepping in through the main doors of the Salvatore School

"Why are you hurt?" Lizzie asks, closing the door and following after Sadie. Sadie makes her way through the halls and towards her room. Lizzie closes the door behind the two as Sadie grabs a new shirt from her closet. "Where were you all night?" She asks

"Hope completed her transition." Sadie simply debriefs, groaning as she pulls her shirt over her head. Despite her wolf side, her gash was taking an awfully long time to heal. She looks down to see that her side is covered in blood and the gash is still open. "Damn." She whispers. Then, she looks at Lizze who looks as if she might vomit. "She killed Landon. And then...then she was gone." She continues her debrief, grabbing a towel and trying to remove the blood carefully from her belly. "I passed out and woke up about an hour ago."

"Where's Hope?" Lizzie asks

Sadie looks up at Lizzie, locking onto her gaze. "That's the million dollar question." She says

The doorbell rings, the sound sounding through the whole school and alerting the two to someone at the door. The two blondes make their way to the front door

"I'm sorry, Officer." Lizzie quips. "If this is about the moaning coming from my dorm room last night, it seems to have stopped." She says and Sadie rolls her eyes playfully

"It's not." The officer says. "Is there an adult I can speak to? Someone in charge?"

"Sure. My father's the headmaster." Lizzie says. "I'll go wake him up."

"You're Alaric Saltzman's daughter?" The officer asks

"Yeah." Lizzie answers. "One of them. Why?" She questions, turning her head

"I'm afraid I have some bad news." The officer tells her seriously

"This isn't right." Lizzie says, pacing the floor of the hospital waiting room. Sadie sits in the chair across from Josie, her hand over the wound on her side that was still healing, as her blonde friend paces the floor. "Our father spends practically his whole life protecting this town, and now his life is in the hands of doctors who aren't even smart enough to know what an actual animal attack looks like!"

"Lizzie, I understand how hard this is, but you need to calm down." Josie tells her sister

"How can you say that when they are cutting into him right now?" Lizzie asks. "When Mr. Williams is in Shanghai, visiting Emma? When Mom's halfway down the Congo, ironically looking for a way to save our lives? There's no need to answer that, because MG's blood could fix whatever is wrong with Dad in a second. If he makes it off the table." A woman a few seats over from Sadie looks weirdly at Lizzie before getting up and leaving

"Lizzie, I hear you, okay? But so can everyone else." Josie says, standibng

"Who cares? No one here takes us seriously." Lizzie says. "The staff won't even tell us what's going on, except that our father was assaulted. Maybe hit by a car. All we know is that he's fighting for his life." She chokes on a sob and Josie wraps her sister in a hug

"We've already lost Landon." Josie says. "Dad's gonna pull through. There's no reason to think of any other outcome. Okay?"

The door opens and MG walks over. "MG. What did your vamp ears hear?" Lizzie asks
