"In a shootout between some unknown terrorist group and the Police, officer Min Yoongi's six-year-old daughter lost her life..."

It's still. The world around him.

It's not silent because the rain drops falling on the ground make too much noise. Yoongi picks up the gun he had earlier kept on the ground. The more he stares at it, the more it seems valid.

Picking that gun and shooting himself right beside his daughter's grave seems valid.

After all, it is his fault.

All he had to do was listen to his wife when she had told him not to take Ari with him out so late at night. All he had to do was listen to Ari when she whined to get him to slow his car down so that she can play her game on the phone. All he had to do was not chase the car of suspected criminals with his daughter in the car.

But he did, and he couldn't save her.

Now, his own wife refuses to look at him.

He points the gun towards himself, placing the tip right below his chin. His mind is blank and he can just hear the echoes of his daughter's voice. He wants to go to her.

He closes his eyes, almost ready to leave all of it behind when from a distance, two headlights flash on him. He opens his eyes again, squinting. He sees a minivan, at some distance.

Can't he even die in silence?

"Turn them off." He shouts, tears falling down his cheeks, meeting the rain midway. "Fuck off."

It's too bright. He doesn't deserve it, any kind of warmth or light. The van doesn't move and Yoongi screams. "Fuck off, leave me alone."

The flashlight flickers before the world around Yoongi becomes dark again. The van driver seems to understand and drives away. Yoongi falls to his knees.

He can't die so easily.

He needs to bear the pain until it kills him.

He can't die before he takes revenge against the one who killed his daughter.

So, he tucks the gun in his gun holder.

On his way out, he steps on something soft. He loses his balance but steps back to look down on what he stepped on. A wallet. Furrowing his eyebrows, he picks it up, dusts it away and winces at the wet mud all over it. He opens the wallet to see if he gets to know the owner of it.

And he does.

Kim Taehyung.
DOB: 4/12/1995

...

Since Yoongi's wife didn't even want to look at him, Jin insisted that Yoongi stays with him for a few days. He understands the grief and the pain and it would be good if the couple stays apart until the tears and anger gets pushed back by other needs in life.

It was late at night when Yoongi returns home, wet from the rain and his eyes dead. Jin seems to be going somewhere out but Yoongi doesn't ask. Jin doesn't tell him either.

"Here are some sleeping pills, that will help you sleep," Jin says, handing him a small bottle. "I don't usually encourage it but I know you need a good sleep, it will help."

Yoongi simply takes the packet, eyes staring into nothing.

"Take only two at a time."

Jin waits around until Yoongi's changed, lying on the couch with his eyes closed and an empty glass of water on the table before he calls up his senior.

"Yes, I am on my way," he speaks into the phone, looking over to Yoongi's still form on the couch. "Yeah he's on sleeping pills, he won't know."

"Alright, good. Our plan shouldn't be ruined, we need Gu-san alive, okay?"

And Jin hangs up after reassuring his senior. He makes sure to lock the door to his house from outside before he walks to his car. Being in the investigation team at the same police station as Yoongi, he is instructed to keep the mission a secret.

He too knows if Yoongi gets even the slightest hint that they are on a mission for hunting down the terrorist group, he will insist on coming along and if that happens,

they aren't getting Gu-san alive.

...

"Alright, Team A in position," Jin speaks into his microphone, while his eyes are trained on the images his drones show on the computer screen. "Team B, you have three minutes. Remember, we need Gu-san alive."

"Sir," a junior taps Jin's shoulder and when the elder looks over, he points at the other screen. "Isn't that Yoongi Sir?"

"Yoongi. What is Yoongi doing there?" his chief shouts over from the headquarters.

Jin panics. What is he doing here? Why is he here? How, when he—

"Get him out of there right now Seokjin!"

And the next second they know, a car explodes in the perimeter, the terrorists become aware of their presence and all Jin can hear is gunshots.

"Fuck," he mutters and leaves his headset on the table before he runs off with a gun to his car. "Fuck, he didn't take the sleeping pills did he?" He starts driving to the location while one of his hands is busy finding the footage of the front of his house on his phone.

"Fuck, fuck, fuck." He mutters, hitting the steering wheel in frustration and throwing the phone away. "Why am I so stupid? I should have roped him into a chair!"

Yoongi seems to have broken the window and come out of it, not caring if he has a shard of glass piercing through his skin. This means that he definitely is on his way to killing Gu-san.

The location wasn't very far away from where he had set up his communications but by the time he reaches there, it was too late.

Yoongi has a gun pointed toward Gu-san who's kneeling on the ground already gasping for his life with gunshots on his shoulders and legs, blood trickling down his temple. The other officers seem to be inside the building because Jin can hear the echoing sounds of bangs of bullets and screams.

"Yoongi stop!" Jin shouts, approaching him before he stills.

But when he reaches Yoongi's side, all he hears is a deafening sound of bullets and  Gu-san's writhing body with all bullets emptied into him.
