Maris POV
"Tina, are you seriously asking that question because you don't know the answer or what?" Cynthia stared at her
"Look I know she might have thought of getting rid of her in some past months but I'm sure she didn't mean anything like that" Tina defended her
"Explain this your sentence well. Is there something you're not telling us?"
Jason said,
this should be the second time he's speaking
"There was one time I happened to be in the lavatory with Vanessa, Kachi and Precious. I heard them talking about getting rid of Elle because of Jayden. Precious was against it, but Kachi was pushing the idea of getting rid of her. What they didn't know was that Elle was in the toilet, after they left she came out crying and I comforted her" Tina confessed
"For the last time, is there anything anybody would like to confess about?" Lami asked again.
"Okay, but I don't think we should remove Vanessa from the suspect list," Amarachi said
"Why?" Janet asked
"Well Hello! She has an obanje (Kachi) backing her up. Even if Vanessa gave up, Kachi would keep pushing her" Amarachi replied
"I think she still knew she was going to be kidnapped, she wasn't settled when she heard that that girl was missing" Craig pointed out
for a while, I thought he was muted
"Yes because I told her that she wasn't missing" Tina confessed
"Tina, why didn't you tell me?" I asked with my cracked voice, "why didn't you tell me what was going on here. I made my sister look like she was mad, I wasn't even smart enough to check what was wrong" my shoulders trembled
"I did not want you to worry. You seemed to like here, I didn't want you coming to school with a frown. I loved how you came to school with a smile on your face. I loved to hear you complain about how Elle treated you or how you felt the teacher was unfair, I didn't want to hear complaints about how scared you were because you don't know who's next. I'm sorry" She rested her head on my head
"Mr X wanted to surprise us. He didn't attack until two days from our graduation, he's not even giving us time to heal. I'm heartbroken" Lami lamented
"Now that I think of it, adding with what Craig said. I think she left a clue" Jimmy said
"We are getting somewhere. Thank God" Cynthia smiled opening the bottle of coke beside her and gulped a little, then she passed it to me, I did the same and passed it to Tina. We did it in a circle, everybody taking a gulp.
"It would only take a matter of time and boom the whole school knows. No one cares about Ss3 again, so teachers wouldn't notice she's not present in class" Craig said while squeezing the plastic bottle
"How do I tell my parents?" I cleaned my tears after tasting some of it that trickled down to my mouth.
"I think we all have to go to the house to inform them before the school does" Jayden proposed
I thought of how devastated my parents would be. She was right, she's always right. I sniffed
" We need to go to her house so that we can find the clue too," Jimmy said
"I don't think we need to go to her house for the clue" Jason suddenly mumbled
"Why?" We asked in unison,
"Because I found one"
