Part 25:" A happy family"

Hello everyone!!! So sorry for making y'all wait for the last part!!
Here its is! Hope you like it!

Anuj is dressed in a baby pink shirt, the top few buttons open, and black trousers, trying to set his hair while he wakes up his sleepy wife..
They were back from their honeymoon, and Anu, not used to travelling, was completely tired out...
Anuj :" Anuuu...jaan uth jao na...dekho 10 baj gaye..."
Anu mumbling something, opens her eyes..
Anu:" Anuj main bohot thak gayi hu"
Anuj:" Toh humaare baby ko lene nahi jaana?"
Anu jumps up with a huge smile and hugs him..
Anuj smiles at his over-excited Anu...
Anuj:" I know tumhaare liye 4th time hai...par main toh pehli baar papa banunga na..."
Anu:" Bhale hi mere liye pehli baar nahi hai ..par aapke saath toh pehli baar haina..."
Anu quickly showered and got ready for the day.. wearing a baby pink salwar suit, twinning with her dashing husband... she had started experimenting with clothes since their marriage...now she wore kurtis and salwar suits regularly, and not just sarees.. western wear was reserved exclusively for when she was alone with Anuj..
She went to the dining table, where Anuj was serving GK, Mukku, along with her mom, who had shifted next door, and Pakhi and Meenu, who had slept over with Mukku.. she took the serving plate from him, served food for both of them on a single plate and made him sit down, sat beside him and fed him lovingly..

Anu's mom:" Beta...tum dono ki shaadi ke baad pagphera ki rasam baaki hai"

Anu:" Haan maa.. main, Anuj aur humaara baby...aaj dupeher ko aajayenge khaana khaane aapke ghar.."

Everyone:" Baby?????"

Anuj:" Hum abhi Furry Tails animal shelter jaa rahe hain.. humne kaha tha na..shaadi ke baad hum ek puppy ya kitten adopt karenge? Toh humne decide kiya hai ki aaj hum ek kitten adopt karenge...humaara apna baby"

He looked at Anu with a huge smile on his face...and Anu smiled back at him..

Anu:" Aur humaari company kuch animal shelters kholne waali hai... taaki hum zyada se zyada animals ki help kar paaye"

Pakhi:" Wow...humaara pet.. aap konse breed ki cat laoge?

Meenu:" Aur... konse colour ki?"

Anuj:" Baccha ye koi dress nahi hai.. ki hum colour ya brand dekh kar select karein...ye ek living being hai... almost ek bacche jaisa hai.. logon ko humesha breeds ki padi hoti hai.. par ye nahi sochte ki stray animals me bhi jaan hoti hai...unhe bhi ek ghar ki, ek family ki, love and care ki zarurat hoti hai.."

Pakhi:" Sorry Anuj papa.. I'm so excited...aap jo bhi kitten laoge usse main bohot pyaar karungi.."
Meenu:" Main bhi"

Mukku:" Yayyyy mujhe aur bhai ko humesha se ek cat chahiye thi...aaj finally humaara sapna pura hoga...I'm so happy!! Aur woh aapka baby hai...matlab main uski bua!!"

Anu's mom:" Aur main Nani"

GK:" Aur main uska big brother. ..technically toh dada dadi dono hu.. par meri age ke hisaab se big brother suits man!"

Anuj:" Chalein baby?"

Anu holds his hand and stands up...

Mukku:" Awwww bhai bhabhi aap dono bohot cute ho"

They go to the animal shelter, and a volunteer from the organization meets them there..

Volunteer:" Welcome sir, welcome ma'am, please aaiye.."

She takes them to a section where there a few kittens...

Anu:" Anuj... ye sab toh kitne pyaare hain...isme se ek kaise le jaayenge"

Anuj notices an empty cage at the side...
Anuj:" Ma'am ye waala cage khaali kyu hai... yahaan label aur picture toh laga hua hai...aur adopted ka tag bhi nahi laga hai..

Volunteer:" Sir aaiye...main dikhati hu..."

She takes them to an adjacent room...

Volunteer:" Woh dekhiye...woh brown dog ke paas so raha hai...actually hua ye tha ki iss brown dog ko health problems the, usne apne puppies bhi kho diye...uske baad ye bohot sad hogayi thi...aur adopt bhi nahi ho rahi thi health issues ki wajah se.. jaise jaise age badhti hai adoption ke chances kam hote hain.. logo ko humesha young pets chahiye hote hain...jinse woh khel sake, jinhe train kar sake..kuch log toh apne old pets ko abandon kar dete hain.. ek din ye doggy ko hum walk par le gaye the, kyunki usse exercise ki zarurat hai... tab woh achanak se leash chudwa ke bhaag gaya...aur jab hum iske peeche gaye toh pata chala isne iss chote se 1 week ke black kitten ko dekha tha..jo akela tha aur bohot weak tha...hum usse yaahan lekar aaye aur isse recover karne ke koshish ki..par iss doggy ne isse apne baby ki tarah treat kiya...aur ab ye dono ek dusre se bilkul dur nahi hote.. ye black kitty ke adopt hone ke chances bhi kam hain...kyuki log abhi abhi superstitions ko maankar black cats lena nahi pasand karte..."

Anuj:" Itna gussa aata hai aise logo par...jab apne ghar ke badon ki respect ki jaati hai..toh in animals ko buddhe hone par ghar se kyu nikal dete hain...aur ye superstitious mindset par bhi utna hi gussa hai"

Anu calms him down...but she herself has tears in her eyes listening to all this..
She looks at Anuj.. pleading him with her eyes...and he understands, and nods..

Anuj:" Ma'am, kya hum inn dono ko adopt kar sakte hain? Please? I promise you hum inke health ka, diet ka, exercise ka aur comfort ka bhi bohot dhyaan rakhenge..."

Volunteer:" Sure sir...par mujhe pehle aap dono se kuch questions puchne honge"

She takes them both to a cabin, and asks them questions about their house, family, income and a lot more... after they answer all her questions...and promise to update the shelter about the status of the pets every month, she agrees.. they complete the adoption formalities...Anuj donates a large sum to the shelter, asking them to use it for daily and medical expenses of the animals

Anu:" Anuj.. hum humaare babies ka naam kya rakhenge?"
Volunteer:" Sorry, main aapko batana bhul gayi...uss doggy ka name hai...chocolate"

Anu and Anuj look at each other with a smile..
Anu:" Aap hi ki baby hai"
Anuj:" Hmm...daddy's girl..ab kitten ka naam tum rakho.."
Anu jumped up and down like an excited kid..
Anu:" Bagheera"
Anuj:" Kya?"
Anu:" Humaare baby ka naam.. Bagheera"
Anuj laughed and kissed her forehead... putting an arm around her shoulder and taking her to the car, to get a basket for Bagheera and a blanket for Chocolate ...

They went to meet both of them..Chocolate was immediately friendly with both of them, but Bagheera was hesitant...after some coaxing... when Anu picked it up, he calmed down and closed his eyes,and snuggled a bit into Anu...After hesitating a lot...he let Anuj pet him...but wouldn't let him carry him..

Anu:" Koi baat nahi Anuj...dheere dheere aapse dosti karlega.."

They started to leave towards their car, Anuj carrying Chocolate, wrapped in a blanket, and Anu carried Bagheera in a basket..
Before leaving, Anuj  asked the volunteer to click a family picture for them, both of them standing close together with their two babies...
As they walked towards the car, Anuj was feeling overwhelmed...he finally had a family... he had always had GK, and now Mukku too... but he had longed for a family... especially after his mom, dad and Mukku left him...he had wished he had his Anu by his side...and their kids or pets or both...keeping the house alive...

Anuj:" Tumhaare aane se mili hain khushiyaan hazaar
Tum meri zindagi me laayi ho pyaar ki bahaar,
Par sabse accha tohfa, hai ye, mera apna parivaar,
Iss khubsurat tohfe ke liye, shukriya, mere yaar.."
