LITA

"I SAID NO, ERIN, WHY CAN'T YOU DROP THIS?!" I repeat for the umpteenth time. I thought 'no' was a full sentence, for fuck's sake. Erin being back in NYC today means she's back into meddling into my business and trying to set me up on a date. If it wasn't clear enough... I don't want to go. But would you think she'd settle for that? No, no, no, of course no. She's going to continue until I cave and I know this, she knows this... That's what happens when both friends are stubborn.

"Because... because it will do you some good."

"I don't know, Erin." I sight while closing my computer and cleaning my desk. I just... I don't feel like going on a date. I like m life the way it is, you know? Why change it? I have amazing friends and an incredible, loving family. I am not yearning for more right now. And going on a date just sounds ridiculous at this point, futile and completely meaningless.

"Oh yeah! You def should go!" Someone buts in and I turn to see Leah entering the office to pick up her stuff. I swear it's 'gang-up on Lita day' today, and I clearly missed the memo.

"Oh, not you too Leah!" I grumble, walking away from these two crazy women. They continued to chat, following me to the front of the store as the bell at the entrance of the shop could be heard which means a new costumer.

"It's been what? A year and a half? It's time to-"

"Erin, I'm fine, please leave it." I snap, my tone harsher than I intended it to be.

Shit.

I quickly apologize and get ready to greet the costumer when I recognize the voice of one of my favourite people. "Hi! Am I interrupting something?"

"Scarlett, hi!"

"Holy..." I hear Erin whisper. I guess we're not trying to keep our cool. This is gonna be hilarious.

"Is she okay?" Scarlett asked, nodding towards the frozen blonde beside me. It seems to be hilarious to her too.

"Yeah, she'll be fine. Just a little starstruck, aren't you, Erin?" I tease and nudge my best friend to get her out of her frozen stance. She quickly snaps back to reality and glares at me.

What did I do now?!

"Shut up, Tia, that's Scarlett Johansson right there! Leave me alone." She whisper-yells. Is she trying to be discreet? Because that was the wrong move. Scarlett literally heard everything. She's just giggling at our bickering.

"So, you're the famous Erin. Nice to meet you." She hands out her hand for Erin to shake, and Erin's hand is just shaking so much. She tries to reply but it's just all comes out is incomprehensible gibberish and I just cannot stop laughing?

Sorry Erin.

...

Actually no. I'm not sorry. This is just too good.

"Stop laughing Tia!" My best friend scolds, again she whisper-yells. Who is going to tell her we can all hear her very well?

"Tia?" Scarlett asks with a raised eyebrow. Yeah, let's not get started on the nickname thing, even I don't know how Erin came up with it. I tried tog et her to stop saying but it's stuck with us now.

"Don't ask. What can I do for you today?"

"I need flowers, huh... One of my mother's friend passed away, I want to send my sympathy." Oh, wow. That's heavier than what I expected. I keep forgetting about this part of my job, to be honest.

Being a florist is awesome. I love it, really. It's a beautiful job and I adore being able to make everyone's day, every special occasions a little bit more special. I work my magic in the background, like a little fairy.
