SCARLETT

BABYSITTER : CHECK.

Restaurant reservation : Check.

Outfit : not check.

What the fuck am I gonna wear on the hottest day of the year? I have no clue. I could wear a cute dress, or just a nice shirt and pants. Both options sound nice, which isn't helping.

I look through my closet at all the options that I have and nothing. I don't feel like wearing any of my clothes. Great. That's exactly what I needed right now.

Before I can think further, my phone rings and my thoughts were interrupted by the familiar ringtone. Whoever is calling me, now is not the time. I let it go to voicemail once... twice. On the third call, I finally pick up, or it'll never stop.

incoming call...

I quickly accept the call, not even thinking twice. "Lita, he–"

"Scarlett, you need to come here." Leah panicked voice reaches my ears. That was already weird on its own, but the ruckus in the background is very suspicious. The shop has always been a pretty calm place. Oh my–

No, I can't think of the worst.

"Why? Did something happen?" I also start to panic against my will, but I'm in the dark here. Fortunately for me, apart from the ruckus, there doesn't seem to be anything else happening. No loud noises, no screams at all.

"You need to pick Lita up. She just fainted." Leah gets out, and I let out a breath I didn't realize I was holding in. A wave of relief washes over me. And even if I would rather have Lita healthy, this is way better than what I'd imagined.

"I'm on my way." I hung up, and with a speed that that could rival Quicksilver's, I leave my room and I gather my things. My big hesitation about my outfit was long forgotten by now. In the first bag I see, I chuck my keys, my glasses, wallet as we never know, and my phone.

My keys... Car keys. Where are my fucking car keys?!

They're not in my pockets. Maybe in another bag? Nope. Coat? Stop that Scarlett, you haven't worn one in months. They're not in my kitchen, or on my coffee table. Where the fuck are they?! I swear it's like glasses, when you are looking for them, they're right in front of your nose... or in that case on your nose I guess. I digress!

Oh here they are, in a wooden key box, hung on my wall in the entrance. Obviously.

I take them, lock the door behind me and rush to the car. I just made sense to drive when I heard Lita fainted, but right now I regret that decision because of the New York City traffic. I could've already been there with her if it weren't for "losing" my keys and add the traffic to that but no. What a loss of time!

I find a parking spot right by the shop which is great, it'll be easier for both Lita and me when we get out. I run inside, the shop is empty, but Leah pops out of the office after she heard the bell. She beckons me inside and I break at the sight.

Lita was laying there on the couch, a damp cloth on her head to keep her cool I assume. "She woke up, and I got her to drink a bit, so don't worry. I'm sure she's just exhausted now." Leah squeezes my shoulder before leaving us alone and closed the door behind her. I crouched down in front of the couch, and immediately let my fingers run through her crazy hair.

"Oh Lita." I sigh. She looks peaceful like this, though it pains me to know that she is not okay.  "You never know when to stop, do you?"

"What are we going to do with you hm?" I whisper to her. I take in the scene in front of me, her legs are elevated so that's good, but she's wearing tight clothes. I begin helping by loosening her clothes, undoing her belt and and unbuttoning the collar of her shirt. Her breathing and her pulse are normal, calming me down a little bit more.
