Evelyn's pov

I walked out of the room, hand in hand with Sergio. As we were walking down the stairs I felt a pit in my stomach...fear.

Once we got to the bottom step I saw Luca standing by the door with his arms crossed. I tried to hide behind Sergio but it was no use.

I took a deep breath and pulled away from Sergio. Luca walked over to me and raised his eyebrows. "How do you know Stephan?" I felt my heart beat go back to a steady beat as I realized he doesn't know.

I thought of any Stephan but I don't remember anyone with that name. "Stephan Diaz, how do you know him." I looked around and saw all of the guy's faces turn to stone.

I looked up at Luca and pulled my eyebrows together. "My old coding teacher I-" Luca cut me off with one glance. "Code?" I nodded my head and he looked shocked.

He cleared his throat and I turned my head to Angelo who nodded. "I just got an email from him. He said you were top in his class and that he would recommend me to put you in another coding class." Only Mr. Diaz would tell my brothers about coding! I mentally slapped myself for being awkward and tried to look innocent.

I tilted my head and tried to look confused. "Coding..no I wasn't that good, he is a really nice person so he is probably just being nice." I chuckled nervously and looked down at my feet.

Honestly, I don't understand how Mr.Diaz got my brother's email anyway, I don't think the school can just hand that information out...can they?

My question was answered when Luca spoke. "He is not that nice. Now Angelo is going to take you somewhere after dinner, just to test your skills. Are you okay with that?" I looked up and slowly shook my head.

I didn't want to embarrass myself and fail at their stupid test. Luca sighed and nodded his head. "Okay, dinner is ready come on." He lead me to the dining room and I felt a lot calmer knowing he hadn't found out.

LUCAS POV.

She is hiding something. I can practically read her like an open book, everything she says is like tiny keys into her mind. I want to figure her out but at the same time, I don't. I don't for the sake of my own mental health.

Angelo told me that she wants to go to school, honestly, it was weird because the twins begged me not to go. Romeo hates school due to him having to redo senior year, but he never really complains.

I looked over at Romeo and felt a sense of pride in him. Last year in his senior year a kid from his class was talking shit about our family and he popped and finally attacked the kid right in the middle of class. The kid had to be hospitalized and it took Alessandro and the twins to get him off. And when I asked him why he didn't let up he just shrugged.

I turned my gaze to Alessandro, now there is a kid that was troubled. He is almost never home, he use to bring girls home every night. When he was in high school he threatened one of his teachers with a gun and the teacher called the cops. That was a tough case to fight. He never really listens but I know deep down he is a good kid.

I turned my head to Salvatore glaring at Evelyn and I shook my head in disbelief. Before our dad told him about the mafia he would stay up for hours to find Evelyn. Now he treats her like shit and it's starting to piss me off, if he continues I will take him to the ring myself.
