Esmé’s POV

When I caught up to Aileen and Tommy, he as well, had started kicking up leaves. As Tommy pranced around, he kicked up a gigantic pile of leaves, giving me a mouthful of wet ones in the process. He giggled and ran off to hide behind Aileen who was guffawing loudly.

Eventually I joined in, giggling and singing along with Aileen. As we shuffled along the sidewalk, Aileen occasionally spinning around, we chatted about the school day.

“I really hope I passed that math test and get that scholarship to Ornund Academy.” I really didn’t need to worry, math has always been my favourite subject. Unlike many people math comes easily to me but, I just couldn’t help myself. A lot depended on that math test. It was the last test I had to take before they could check my results and see if I qualified to receive the scholarship or not. “You aced that test Ez you’re the great math wiz!”

“Are you sure?”

“Positively!”

“You’re really smart Esmé.” Tommy piped up.

“Awwww...thanks Tommy.”

“Like I would ever be able to get into a good school via scholarship or not.” Aileen grumbled.

“That’s not true you’re really good at sports.”

“Like they care about that.”

“Don’t say...” My head whirled around. “TOMMY DON’T GO ON THE ROAD! THERE’S A CAR!”I sprinted into the road, and shoved Tommy aside. My dad’s surprised face flash before me, there was a gigantic ‘crash’ and the sound of wheels screeching against the pavement. Then everything went black.

Second chapter with a bit of a cliffhanger! Vote, comment, fan. And the picture is of Aileen. Thanks for reading!
