Esmé’s POV
I woke up not sure where I was or what had just happened. I tried to sit up to get a better look at my surroundings but my head throbbed with pain. I groaned at the stiffness of my body then flopped back down onto the bed. As hard as it was to do this lying down, I looked around noticing that the room was pure white, the sheets, the walls, the ceiling, everything.
At that moment an old man with graying hair and a curly mustache wearing a white lab coat quietly pushed open the door.
“Miss. Esmé? Feeling better?“ he asked in a posh voice, “Miss. Jackson, Mrs. Birmingham, your mother and young master Thomas are anxious to see you, they're in the waiting room.
“Oh my gosh! Aileen? Mom? Tommy? They’re here?”
“Indeed, and Mrs. Birmingham.”
I tried to get up but nausea overwhelmed me and a sharp jab of pain shot through my arm.
“Carefully now, your arm is broken, and you might have a slight headache, but other than that you’re all good. If you please you can slowly, and I mean slowly head to the waiting room to meet your friends and mother.”
The doctor rushed off to tell them that as I was awake while I recovered.
“E-e-e-esmé-é-é?” I heard Aileen half-heartedly sing. As I was about to get up she peeked her head through the doorway “Oh good, you’re awake!” and she stepped into the doorway.
“Aileen,” I replied relieved.
Then she ran over and in seconds I was tackled by Aileen’s arms as she managed the biggest hug possible. I groaned for my body ached.
“Sorry,” she said letting go, “I was worried, you’ve been out for hours.”
“Where am I?”
“The hospital of course. Don’t you remember?”
She thought for a minute then replied “Barely, and what I do is all hazy,”
She recounted the tale yet I felt pieces were missing, like she wasn’t telling me everything.

“Do you want to go see your mom? She’ll be glad to hear that you're awake. She’s been worried sick not knowing what was happening, the doctors wouldn’t tell her anything until just now. You know, with it being you and yo-...let’s go.” She left quickly not waiting for an answer. I decided it’d be best not to press her seeing how relieved she was when I woke up so, I let it go.
This is going to be the last chapter for a little while but we will get back to it. Thanks for reading hoped you enjoyed it. The picture is of Tommy's mother Mrs. Birmingham. Vote, comment, fan and thanks again!
