Esme's POV

I bolted down the jetway past all the posters advertising ‘World Vision’. And skidded to a halt in front of the curved, aluminum door frame of the airplane. I cautiously stepped through peeking into the cockpit on the way. It was full with so many buttons and switches i was amazed at how the pilots could fly this thing. As if he read my mind the pilot turned around and gave me a knowing smile. I smiled uncertainly and took my seat near the front of the plane.

“You’re the girl with the scholarship to Ornund Academy, correct? All by yourself?” asked one of the flight attendants.

    “Ya.” I  replied nervously.

“Don’t worry it’ll be fine, we’ll take care of you.”

    “Thanks…”

I waited nervously for everyone to board the plane hoping some creepy guy wouldn’t sit next to me. Thankfully a girl maybe a couple years older than me took the seat next to me. She had long dark hair, dark eyes with long eyelashes and a carefree face a smirk playing across it. She nodded and swayed to her music headphones crammed into her ears. Across from her were the little girl and her mother that I saw at the gate earlier.

“Hi,” the girl next to me said popping out her headphones, “I’m Dorian.”

“Hey, Im Esmé, are your parents here?”

“Well you’re straight to the point aren’t you?” she chuckled while I stuttered an apology, “No I’m going England to visit my grandparents, while my parents stay here. Ugh. Where are you headed?”

“I’m going to a boarding school, Ornund Academy.”

“Woah, are you like super rich?”

“No, I’m going on a scholarship.”

“Oh.”  she said disappointed , but before I could answer, the plane started to slowly roll down the runway and she whispered, “Finally!” and laughed. “You see I always want the plane to take off even if it’s going to be a super long flight and get I kinda sickwhen the plane takes off.” she said as an answer to my confused look.

I smiled, “Join the club.” I said as the plane did it’s consistent sickening jerk and we both fumbled for our barf bags. The plane did a sickening jolt as it started to rise. We were off!

I know it's been a long time since we've written, but here's to trying again! The picture is of Dorian when she was younger .Thanks for reading and hopefully reading more! Vote, comment, fan.
