I woke up the next morning feeling...

embarrassed.

That whole confession could've gone better.'

I might've overreacted a bit. I should apologize.

That was my first plan of the day. Apologize.

I shouldn't have forced a confession out of him just because I was overwhelmed.

I got up and walked over to the house phone. I dialed the Arellano household.

"Hello?" A voice answered on the other end.

"Hi, I was wondering if Robin was home?" I asked

"Not at the moment he's out right now. Can I take a message?"

"Could you let him know I need to talk to him about something when he gets the chance? Please and thank you." I said

"Of course. I'll have him call you back as soon as he can." said the voice

"Okay, thank you. Have a good day!"

"You as well!"

I was a bit disappointed that I couldn't apologize now, but I guess I can later.

"Honey! Are you ready to go?" Dad called

"I'm ready, I was just making a call." I said

He nodded. "Your mom's already in the car, let's go before she blows her head off." Dad laughed

I laughed and started walking out the door.

~❤︎︎~

When my parents asked me to do this, I knew it would be boring to put a bunch of papers into a box.

But Robin made this enjoyable. Made me forget what I was actually doing, I was always just focused on him and his voice.

As I was lost in thought, I saw 2 detectives come in to the office.

Hm.

"Hey sweetie, are your parents here? One of the detectives asked

"Uh, yeah. I'll let them know you guys are here." I said, smiling politely

"Thank you dear."

I nodded and walked off to find my parents.

I knocked on their office's door.

I heard some rummaging and then finally my dad opened the door. Lipstick marks on his neck.

Gross.

"There are 2 detectives out there looking for you and Mom." I said, disgusted

"We'll be right there." Dad said, closing the door

In. The. Office.

I walked back to the door to let the detectives know they'd be here in a moment.

I went back to sorting through these boring papers.

A few minutes passed, and my parents finally came out of the office

"Detective Wright, Detective Miller." My father said, shaking their hands.

"Sir, we have something you need to publish. About the missing boy." Detective Wright said

Missing? Another one?

"Of course. We just need details, again." Mom said

"Right." Detective Miller said, "14 year old boy. His name is Robin Arellano."

Robin?

My parents turned to look at me.

"Give us a moment will you?" Mom told the detectives

"Sweetie.." Dad began

"No, no. It's okay. Can I go home?" I asked, trying to cry

My parents nodded, "Be safe, okay?"

I just nodded and walked out as fast as I could.

Robin is missing.
