- Mid May, 2046 (Present Day) -
Once Jamie found a dry spot underneath a bridge, the first thing he did was check his backpack. He sighed in relief when he saw that the stack of papers were safe and dry.
The rain continued to pour, and he decided that it'd be best to stay where he was until it stopped. Then, he'd be on his way back to the rail yard.
He took a few gulps of water, then double-checked to make sure he was out of view and sheltered from any rain drops. He sat down on the concrete and pulled out of the papers, slowly flipping through them and making sure everything was as he left it.
So close. Just need one more thing, and I'm there.
He carefully pulled out a piece of paper that was folded up, and when he concluded that he didn't recognize it, his heart started racing. Slowly, he unfolded it, and his blood turned to ice at what was messily written inside.
