✧ reason #9: 🐦 ✧

here's an official version of the song by kodaline, themselves (below) thing is, I love supporting creators that aren't big hence why there's a fan-made video at the top. i always do my best to find smol creator based covers or just fan made videos because I love having another perspective + having a different experience than what the original song/video may convey. plus baby creators need all the support they can get in this big universe of amazing creativity!!! but just in case, for those who'd also like to see the official version, here ya go! ✧ REASON #9: PRIMROSE ✧

FLICKERS OF LIGHTS dance around my closed lids, a warm hug surrounding me in an embrace as I rise from my slumber. The first thing I hear, or better yet feel, is primrose pecking at me softly.

If there ever had to be a reason why I would get out of bed, it would be her. Her little chirps just make me happy. Happy that I can take care of someone properly without them ever wanting me anymore. At peace too, because I know that no matter what I do in my life, she'll always think I am enough for her. 

Primrose wants me to be here. Maybe she might be dependent on me for food and shelter. But she still loves me. She still wants me to be okay. She comes by each and every single dawn to wake me up. Never a day goes by that she doesn't remember to peck me on the forehead and give a gentle tug with her claws in my hair.

It's soothing and comforting. One of the only things on this planet that feel like this to me...for how long that is.

I begin to raise my hand, finding it curled in a fist. Uncurling it, I gently raise my pinky and place it where I can feel her warm little self cuddling into the portion of my head, neck, and hair. I slowly touch her head, softly touching her face to find the crown of her head. Upon finding it, I start stroking it while she hums a happy, upbeat tone that is music to my ears.

I've been trying to take it easy on myself bc the countdown for uni is onnn! two more weeks till the mountain of assignments are back hahah. plus, hanging out with the fam before I'll be locked in my room with assignments and assignments every day xD me n the fam have been visiting the wonderful earth and it's natural places, it has been a blast <3 nature is always my therapy esp water!! and we've seen a lot of epic rock pools, lagoons & even a waterfall!! and drank the water, so fresh n clear n just such a good refreshing time away from my devices. there's a literal whole world outside your phone so just a reminder to go n discover it! thank you for waiting for this chapter —♡
