✧ REASON #5: LIGHTS ✧
MISSION ACCOMPLISHED. This room, what is supposed to be my room has been a vault for you for so long that I was a mere visitor. A visitor in a room that I'm supposed to call mine. Now, with something that is for me and only for me- not you, the room, bit by bit is turning into just 'Anika's room'. Not 'Anika & Andre'. Only Anika. A, N, I, K, A. Anika. Anika. Anika. So yas, earth. Mission has been accomplished. As for being better than the first letter? Not yet. Perhaps soon. We'll see.
Two people who I've had to be in the presence for more than I would wish to- my parents. I wished they wouldn't know. Then they wouldn't find threads that they never saw before, threads that they believe are frayed and need to be restricted. It's not that they haven't been supportive, to say the least. But, they forgot that memories still exist— memories that can't be washed off in a blink of an eye.
With a small flutter, my eyelids open, and I am faced with the darkest of black, a frozen shade that can only be seen by me. But, a warm shade of light appears as well, striking the darkness away. When the night comes, I am free because it is only here that I can see. And seeing to me is believing. I believe I can see. Just not the way others might, I guess?
