Trigger warnings: jealousy, envy, slight resentment, secrets, secret children, bitter, fatherless children, deadbeat moms king of, hatred, abandonment issues, anger, oblivious children, etc.

Let me know when If should add to the list.

Evie sat a little ways away from Chad and the neverrangers group campfire, unable to stop herself from feeling a bit envious.

She knew that envy was a ridiculous thing to be feeling right now. A selfish thing. And that she should be happy that her nephew had been reunited with his parents.

But as she sat there by that tree, watching as he laid curled up in-between his relieved parents and new found not so little sister, she couldn't help but feel bitter.

Bitter that he had a dad and she didn't.

Bitter that her mom wasn't there hugging her.

Bitter that her mom went and raised someone else's kid when she didn't even raise her.

Bitter that no one cared enough to realize she wasn't there with them.

It just wasn't fair .

She wanted to go over there and cause a scene.

She wanted to make him and the others realize that the so-called 'Neverrangers' weren't there for them. That they had moved on from them. Wanted to make them all feel the hurt she was feeling.

But Evie didn't do any of that.

No, instead she just sat there. Silently fuming and hating her mother just a tiny bit more, all the while wondering what was gonna happen to her when they left this dreaded place since her mother clearly didn't want her.

Unaware that at that very moment, Chad was broaching the subject with his parents.

"Hey mommy?"

"Yes, sweetheart?" Snow had slipped back into calling him endearing nicknames like no time had passed at all since they had last seen each other.

As if Emma wasn't 29 instead of just a baby in her tummy.

Chad loved it.

Loved how she was running her fingers through his hair.

Loved how his father just kept hugging him.

Loved how his now older sister gave him small waves whenever she noticed his eyes lingering on her curiously.

And he knew that Evie needed that too. Knew that she needed it more than anything in the world. Even if she was too prideful/scared to ask for it at the moment.

So, he made his move. Deciding that if she wouldn't stop sulking near Ben's brother and Harry's dad, who were 'keeping watch' (read: arguing about what to do with the information he and Evie had given them next) and do it herself, then he would.

"When we get off the island, can your sissy stay with us?"

The camp went dead quiet and Chad noticed even from afar how quick Hook's head snapped towards Evie. And how wide his eyes got, as if he was seeing her for the first time for some weird reason.

"My what?" Snow asked, baffled, looking at David, who looked just as confused as she was.

"Your sissy" the blonde repeated stubbornly, as if that explained anything.

"Baby, I don't have a sister, " his mom explained gently, as if it was the honest to God truth. Which just served to annoy Chad.

"Yes, you do. I know she's not your blood sister but step siblings still count!" Okay, maybe he could have been a bit nicer about correcting her but he was tired and wanted to go home, and just knew that the comment had hurt Evie without even having to look at her.

And that was just something he wouldn't stand for.

His dad decided to step in.

"Chad, buddy, while that may be true your mom still doesn't have any sisters because Regina doesn't have any daughters."

"But she does!" Chad argued furious, pointing over at Evie, who was fighting back tears. "And it's mean to pretend that she doesn't when Evie is right there!"

Emma's jaw dropped.

Hook groaned.

Snow stared.

David stared.

And Neal..

Neal just about lost it.

"Is there anyone in this group who doesn't have a secret kid?!"

Author's note: hey guys, sorry it took so long to update and that this was so short.

Mental health and lack of motivation can be a bitch and I'm really struggling to remember how that season went. If anyone knows a canon compliment fanfiction I could read that could clear some of the major plot points up in my memory, I'd really appreciate it.

It might take awhile for me to update.
