"Don't you dare run away now that I am awake!" You said jokingly after him.
"I wouldn't dream of it" Bucky snickered.
Still smiling you looked down at Alice, carefully petting her head.
Not even a minute later Bucky walked in with a doctor. He held Alice for a moment, while the doctor did some check-up's on you.
"It's looking good so far, you do have to stay at the hospital for another 48h for check-up though" the doctor finally said.
You yawned again.
"Get some rest. I'm going to check on you in the morning again"
You and Bucky thanked her and she left again.
"I'm really fucking tired" you laughed.
"It's okay. Get some rest, doll"
You groaned.
"I'd rather spend my time with Ally and you.."
"We're right here." Bucky kissed your forehead.
"Here, I can take her as soon as you fall asleep." He placed Alice back on your chest, and you gave her a quick kiss on the head.
Bucky sat back on the couch in the room.
"No, no I want both of you" you reached out your hand for him.
"I- are you sure? I thought you could use some alone time with your daughter.."
"I want you here next to me.. please?"
You weakly smiled. Your hand still reaching for his.
Bucky blushed a bit and then stood up, grabbing your hand, laying in the bed next to you again.
You lifted your head up a bit, whining in the process, to lay in his arms.
"You okay?" He asked concerned.
"Now I am" your hand reached behind your head to rub the top of his head.
"Get some rest now, I'll be here"
"Thank you.."
"Don't mention it.."
"No, seriously.." tears welling in your eyes.
"I really thought I had to go trough all that alone."
"You're not alone anymore"
"I know... but I can't thank you enough for that.."
"No need to thank me, really.."
"Yes it is.. I can cook for you again once I am out and.. maybe you can make that chocolate cake you promised me... I could die for chocolate cake right now.."
"Would cooking for me make you feel better?"
"Yes.."
"Then I will be happy to take that offer.
Sleep now, I know how tired you are. We can talk in the morning. I promise you I am not going anywhere."
You groaned disappointed.
"Have I ever broken any of my promises?"
"No... but I still haven't got my chocolate cake.."
"You will get your chocolate cake. But right now you need rest. Please get some rest, doll"
