Bright light attacked her vision as she fought against going blind once she'd opened her eyes. Panic set in instantly as she pulled herself into a sitting position, noticing she was in an unfamiliar location. Immediately she went to move but she found her movement was restricted by rope that connected to a pole. Frustration ran through her body as she tried to pull herself out of the restraints that bound her.

It didn't make sense why the Darkling had taken her, she wasn't special. None of this made sense. Had he found out about their plan? Was he annoyed that they'd tried to kidnap the one person he could manipulate under his control? If so, it didn't make sense why he'd taken her, he would've killed her for her betrayal. She should be dead right now, so what did he want.

At the sound of a door opening, her thoughts were answered. In strut the Darkling, a cruel grin on his lips as he motioned his guards to leave. When they left, he stepped closer to the girl as she glared at him, trying to put as much distance between herself and him. He merely chuckled at her actions, crouching down beside her.

"What do you want from me?" Raina immediately asked, sick of the unknown.

"The King has taken an interest in you," The Darkling began and she gulped nervously, inching her body away from him, "you're fascinating, in his words."
