I Need Time

3rd Person POV

"what are you doing here?" they asked and tory sighed before she looked behind selene and back at them

"you love here?" tory asked and selene nodded

"yeah, why?" selene questioned in confusion

"my therapist, they live here" tory spoke and selene nodded

"ah yes my amazing mother cares about everyone else but her own kid" selene said and they sat on the edge of the stairs as tory sat next to them

"there's usually another car here, where is it?" she asked and selene nodded

"my dad, he's in the navy. he's not around much and he just left" selene spoke and tory nodded

"have you seen miguel?" tory asked changing the topic

"yeah he's still asleep but he's doing good" selene said and tory nodded

"do you agree with what i did?" tory asked and they shrugged

"it wasn't good to do it at school but your motives made sense, i'm not on anyones side about this tor" they said and she nodded

"i understand but johnny taught no mercy and i wasn't going to do nothing" she spoke and selene nodded

"not that type of no mercy" they defended

"yeah the type of no mercy that puts people in hospitals with a broken back and in a coma" tory stated and selene shook their head

"tory you know that's not true, robby did that and he knew what he was doing. miguel was tired of fighting" selene said and tory sighed

"okay you're right i'm sorry, do you know anything about this kreese guy? apparently he's like really good" tory said and selene sighed

"i don't know him but i don't trust him. he knows my dad, apparently they had to work together during a fight before and kreese wasn't so keen on that" they said and she nodded

"you're sticking with johnny" tory said and they nodded

"i trust johnny, he's helped me when i needed it. of course i'm sticking with him tory. are you okay though because you said you were talking to my mom" selene said and tory sighed

" i have to stay out of trouble or i'll go to juvie. i have to pay rent, get my GED, take care of my mom and my little brother. life is kicking my ass sel" she spoke and selene nodded

"i know you hate help but i could help you if you needed it and it looks like you need it" selene said and tory sighed

"you don't have to" tory said and selene scoffed

" i want to tory, we aren't close but i want to trust you and i want you to trust me" selene said and tory nodded

"it'll take some time selene and i have to get ready for work" tory said and selene nodded

"take your time tory, i'll be here when you need it" selene said and tory got up as she smiled and walked away

"see you later selene" she called and selene smiled as they looked around and then down . their head started to ache and they sighed

"oh not again" they said and they leaned back on the steps

"Selene i'll see you later you know this" their father spoke and they sighed

"do i know that dad? you're always leaving and you're never around, johnny is more like my dad then you are" they said and he sighed

"you know you don't mean that" he tried and she laughed

" i don't know what i mean anymore dad, i love you but you're not dependable and you're my dad. you're supposed to be around and you're supposed to care. why don't you care, why can't you care?" they sobbed and tears ran down their face

"selene i do care , i'll always care" he spoke and he wrapped his arms around them as they sobbed into his chest

"why is work more important than me dad? why?" they cried and he grew tears in his eyes as he listened to them

"it's not selene , i'm sorry you think that" he stated and they wrapped their arms around him as they gripped the back of his shirt and whimpered

"i don't want you to leave, please don't leave me again after this trip" they cried and he nodded

"after this trip, i will never leave you again . i will be with you for everything and you need to know that" he said and they nodded

"promise me dad" they spoke and he nodded as they pulled away and held up their pinkies

" i promise you selene winter blackburn, that i will come back and never leave again" he said and they smiled

"you do have to leave right now though" selene said and he nodded as he kissed their forehead and he let them go

"i'll be back bug i promise" he said and he grabbed his things as he got in his car and he drove away. selene watched with a sad smile on their face

if only he had kept that promise. what a fucking liar
