Chapter 8: Date

Kanae POV:
I asked for Shinazugawa-Kun to join me for lunch. I was worried that he'd refuse but I decided to just hope for the best. His crow came back to me in no time and he had agreed! I decided that I was gonna have to dress up a little more fancy for it since there was gonna be a festival, later that evening. It was already late so I decided to head to bed. I close my window and get tucked into bed. I slowly drift off to sleep, smiling.

— The Next Day —

I woke up early and got dressed in my favorite Kimono.

I quickly called over my crow and wrote a quick note to ask Shinazugawa-Kun where he wanted to meet. He quickly responded and sent me a note back. I took it off my crow's leg and she flew away. I read the note, excitedly.

I smile and walk to the front door, to head to my destination.

"Né-San, where are you going?"

I hear Shinobu-Chan speak from behind me and I spin around quickly.

"Ara Ara~ Shinobu-Chan, don't sneak up on me like that! I'm going to town to eat lunch with Shinazugawa-Kun! Then, we're going to the festival!"

"Né-San, don't tell me you're dating that hot-headed windpipe!"

"Shinobu-Chan! Don't call him that!"

"You didn't even deny it!"

"I have to go Shinobu-Chan! Sayonara!"

I run out the door after grabbing a small umbrella, just in case of a weather disaster.

— Slight time-skip —

I finally reached the restaurant and saw Shinazugawa-Kun standing outside, waiting for me.

I approach him cheerfully and smile at him.

"Ohayo, Shinazugawa-Kun! How are you?"

"Ohayo. I'm doing fine, how are you?

"I'm great! Shall we head in?"

"Of course."

He proceeds to open the door and lets me in before entering after me. We are then greeted by a staff member who seems to be very rushed and stressed.

"Hello! Welcome to Ise Sueyoshi! Follow me!"

(That is an actual Japanese Restaurant in Minato City, Tokyo! I've never been there but the ratings are very nice! 😊)

We were seated immediately and after a short wait they got our order and placed it on our table.

We finish our food an hour and a half later, just in time for the festival. We arrive at the festival and immediately I run to look at everything, dragging Shinazugawa-Kun behind me.

"Kochou, slow down!"

I slow down and turn back to him.

"Gomen (Sorry), I've just never been to a festival before and my excitement got the best of me."

He doesn't respond, he just looks over to a different stand that was selling kitsune masks. He walks over to the stand and picks up a mask. He holds it over my face and after looking at it for a while, he pays for it.

Kanae's mask:

I decide to pick one for him and I pay for it.

Sanemi's mask:

We both walk away content and before we know it, we're both at his house chatting and we soon fall asleep.
