ROBIN BUCKLEY WAS nothing more than a nerd, who spent her life obsessing over the fine details she considered to be the most interesting.

She had grown up with music, and the overtly obvious obsession she had with the world around her — which as of the last year, had lessened in relevancy — as well as a facination for the places she knew she'd prefer over the town of Hawkins. For years, she insisted she'd be out of the area before her eighteenth birthday, but that date began to shape itself just like every other interest in her life: a moment of wishful thinking that lasted entirely too long. She'd spent years learning languages to prepare for a trip around the globe, and an escape from the weight that dragged her below the expectations of her parents, all with the intention of finding people like her.

That was, until her job at 'Scoops Ahoy!'

Ever since Steve Harrington, Dustin Henderson and Erica Sincalir tumbled into her life, her direction had shifted. Spanish turned to Russian; the great outdoors turned into the upside down; her friends had shifted into a group of kids two years below her. She had been freed from her silence only to be engaged in so much noise, she often felt overwhelmingly stimulated by her surroundings. She'd fought monsters, and become a solider for the American Government ( the same American Government who still demonised people like her ) while finishing High School.

She'd changed forever, and found her best friend in the process. This, and perhaps a reason that hid under layers of fear and social programming, lead to an immense amount of sympathy for Eddie, Emma and Adelade as they got to grips with the truth of their sleepy town.

Adelade at least, seemed to be losing any semblance of cool she'd entered the room with.

"No."

Addie's long hair was so unkempt it began to curl hap-hazardly at the edges as she shook her head. Her lips trembled, but her expression remained somewhat stoic as she stood with her arm around her friend, who was dirtied by the filth and grime of Reefer Rick's boathouse. She was looking to Emma with a hardness that was always shared with unfamiliar company – a fact that only cause Emma to look more vulnerable. But it was expected from the Thompson sister, who had been faced with the cruel judgement of Steve and the others in Robin's company.

Even she had been cruel to Adelade, purely due to her overly pretty face and competitive social nature. Sure, the girl had once damned the band club to the toilets so her friends could take the last table in the cafeteria, but that was a long time ago. That was before the death of Heather Holloway, and the dissection of Chrissy Cunningham, and those two events warrented a second chance for the girl.
