Yoongi's POV

What made you think Taehyung is right for such a big responsibility? He is just a spoiled brat, Hoseok. Why did you even sacrifice your years behind this guy? He is good for nothing. These mood swings...

He is just a kid.

How long will he be able to maintain the façade, of the sweet and kind, handsome king to his people when he in reality is just an annoying kid, no...a psychopath. He is crazy. That two faced bastard.

I sighed and looked at the stars in the vast sky, "I wonder if he reached somewhere safe or nah. Was I mean to him? Maybe it was a wrong decision. Actually I didn't expect him to run away just with that little threatening." I mumbled to myself as I poured me a drink. Once I am done with Taehyung, I'll bring back you and give you the position that is actually yours. As the loyal dog of king, it's my duty to uproot any problems. It doesn't matter what the problem is. To me you are my king, you always were, and you always will be.

Just wait for me Hoseok-ah...

"Sir, we found a report about the commotion going around in Cherue city square."

"Hmm...Isn't that where the festival is going to start?"I asked as I looked at my soldier. He replied with a quick 'yes'. "Fill me in with details and send a troop there to settle the com-" I got interrupted by him which made me raise my eyebrow.

"It's something related to....the blue eyed maiden."

Author's POV

Jisung smiled as he watched his cousin pour himself some wine. "Do you want some?" Taehyung asked making the younger shake his head. "I'm amazed that you want to hang out with me instead of studying in the imperial library." Taehyung chuckled.

"Ah,, It's not that. It's been long since we played chess together, plus I missed hanging out with you like old days." Jisung moved his piece with a gentle grin on his lips.

Taehyung smiled back as he watched Jisung's move. "Certainly." The brothers continued to play while chit chatting and drinking.

"Hyung? I heard you're courting lady Kyung, Is that true?" He asked even though he already knew the answer. "Are you just courting her because she's the blue eyed maiden?" He picked up a piece from Taehyung's side and smiled. "Check."

Taehyung's smile faded as he heard his brother. He faked a smile before shaking his head. "Ahaha...I don't think it's because of her eyes, Jisung-ah." He paused to take a sip of his drink. "I grew up hearing all fantasy tales from my nanny and the story of the blue eyed maiden always fascinated me. How can a woman be that powerful? And I kept thinking about her until I lost interest in every woman except her. I started to fantasize her even though I knew there was no blue eyed maiden around." He lowered his head and smiled sadly, "I still don't know if the fluttering feeling was? Was it excitement for meeting the blue eyed maiden in real life, or a relief that the person whom I was fond of since I was a child wasn't just a story from a heavy book from my grandma's bookshelf."

Jisung chugged his drink before moving his piece. "Even if you love her.... does she...love you? For her, you are just a heartless emperor who is marrying her because of her powers, isn't it?"

"What?" Taehyung halted. He turned to Jisung with confusion. "Who wouldn't want to marry me, me....Kim Taehyung? The emperor...Jisung...who won't crave for me? I'm the youngest pure blood royal to sit on the throne, to rule over such a vast empire...why do you think any woman would feel devastated to marry me...??" He scoffed before taking a sip.

"Again hyung...." Jisung smiled looking up at his older brother. "She's not any woman...Is she?"

Taehyung was taken aback. Jisung wasn't wrong after all. Kyung wasn't any woman, she had the capacity to survive alone, and marry anyone she want, why would she care about some man who inherited everything without even moving a finger. An emperor by luck. Taehyung's grip tightened as Jisung continued.

"You should woo her properly hyung. She is a woman, she should be respected like one. You shouldn't make her feel like you want her just because of her powers or her beauty. You should take your time to understand her, to love her for who she is, she's Han Kyung, not the blue eyed maiden from books. She is a real person, with real feelings. You gotta respect her decisions too....Love is not always reciprocated hyung...." He got up. "Love is a pure bliss that is even more beautiful when one sided...Check..Mate." He smiled ending the game and looked at him. "Have a good night hyung." And with that he left the room leaving a bewildered Taehyung.

"Leaving already?"

Jisung stopped as he heard a familiar voice standing behind the curtains. Her hands gripped on the tray as he watched her walk closer gracefully. Her neatly plated hair, clean white hanbok and the soft hazy eyes. "Yes. Hyung is already drunk. I don't think he needs more of these..." He eyed the alcohol jug she was carrying. He gripped on the tray, "You look tired."

"As if." She lowered her head trying to pull the tray away from Jisung's grip. "I can't disobey his majesty."

"Who said you are disobeying him, you are taking care of him by not letting him drown in alcohol....he needs rest, so is his heart. Let him have some lone time." Jisung insisted.

The female sighed and nodded. "Can I leave then...?"

"Ji eun noona..."

Ji Eun's heart skipped a beat as she heard him call her name. They made an eye contact but she looked away maintaining distance.

"Why do you hate me so much?"

"Your highness.. I don't know what you are saying. I should leave now-" She tried to leave but Jisung stopped her and pulled her behind the curtains as some guards walked passed them. "This is why..." She whispered making him look at her.

"What?"

"Your highness....I respect your feelings...but I am not a naïve teenage girl who would fall in love with a royal so blindly....I have no crave for money, power or status.....I fell in love with the person who wrote me everyday.....but I am not blind. I can see the boundary between us. You are a prince and I....I am a servant." She looked away, "It feels wrong, It is wrong..."

"Loving someone is never wrong, noona." Jisung slowly took the tray from her grip and placed it on a table beside them.

"I am older than you. I know better." She argued. "It is wrong and I don't think you are mature enough to understand what love is. Hah....is this even my age to bicker with a kid about love-" She mumbled to herself. "You are drunk. I don't want to discuss with a drunk kid."

"I am not drunk."

"Your breathe stinks." Ji Eun glared at him making him roll his eyes. "Whatever it is...we are not taking any step further. I am your servant and you are my employer. That's all." She gently pushed the boy away, "You should get some rest too."

"Noona...I am not a kid!" He yelled making her sigh and walk away shaking her head.

"Your highness you really have a poor taste in women, please change it or your harem would have really some sad romance life in future." She chuckled strutting away.

"Arrgh....What she thinks am i? A child....darn it. And here I was giving hyung some relationship advice....when I have never dated anyone....sigh...noona..."
