"Y/n....." Jimin calls out as she turns to leave. She takes a few steps and spins to him again. "One last thing Jimin. Stay away from me. I never want to see you again. Do you understand me?" He starts sobbing and shakes his head. "Please Y/n." "If you ever loved me Jimin then do this one thing for me." She looks at him and then reaches in her pocket and pulls her engagement ring out that's she's secretly carried every day. He starts sobbing harder and shakes his head as he steps back. "No Y/n. Baby I don't want it." She sighs through her tears and grabs his hand softly. He tries to pull it away and her grip tightens. She places the ring in his hand and steps back. "I don't want it either. It hurts too bad and I can't put it down as long as I have it." He steps toward her and cups her face, his face filled with desperation. "Then don't put it down baby. Please don't. Let me fix this. I'm begging you. I love you." She lets him keep his hands on her face and places hers over his. He sighs at the feeling of her. She closes her eyes and takes a deep breath. She leans up and places a soft kiss on his lips. He feels hope. That maybe there's still a chance to make things right. "Goodbye Jimin." She lets her arms fall and turns back around and walks away. "No Y/n! Please don't say that!! Don't say goodbye! I'm sorry baby! I love you!!" He drops to his knees as he watches her run swiftly down the street, the finality of the moment shattering what little was left of two broken hearts.

Y/n has moped around for the past couple of weeks and Jungkook and Sorin are getting really concerned. She's been like this since the night she went home instead of going out for barbecue with them. She's changed. Any smile she had is gone, never even peeking out. She barely talks more than she has to for her job, which she's called off from more than she ever has since she started. She never returns Sorin's calls or texts and when she's home she stays in her room. Jungkook has even tried to sleep with her and she always says no, she's not in the mood. "I don't know what happened to her. She was doing so good" Jungkook says as him, Sorin and Minhyuk sit in the coffee shop across from the gym. Sorin sighs. "I think it's finally sunk in with her. She's avoided it for months but it's now really hit her." Junkook's heart hurts for her. He loves her, she's his best friend. "What are we supposed to do Sor? Let her hole herself up in her room and isolate? She looks like shit. She never works out anymore, barely eats. Her eyes look.....dead." Sorin shakes her head, tapping her acrylics on the table top. "I don't know Kook. We have to be careful to not overstep. She's feeling it all now. She needs time. They were almost married, three fucking months away. We have to give her time to grieve." Although Jungkook hates hearing to give her time and space he knows Sorin is right. He knew how happy she was and deeply in love with Jimin she was. He thought Jimin felt the same way. Jimin was the only friend he had that he thought he could trust Y/n's heart with, and was the only one Jungkook allowed to get close to her. He bangs his head down on the table. "I hate this." Sorin pats his head and agrees, "me too Kook. But we need to give her time. As much as she needs." She sighs and then asks, "where is her engagement ring? Is she still hanging onto it and carrying it around?" Jungkook runs his hand through his black wavy locks and shrugs. Y/n thought she was slick but they all knew she was carrying it in her pocket every day. "I don't know. I don't want to ask and piss her off or make her cry. I can hear her in her room. She's crying enough." Sorin nods. "I can ask her." "No, I'll ask her when I get home. If she can detach herself from that ring it could help her a ton. Let me ask." Sorin nods and asks him to let her know.

Jungkook walks in the front door and is greeted with the same scene as every day; silence and darkness. Not a light in the house is on. He takes off his shoes and slips his plush slippers on then walks down the hallway to the bedrooms. He tosses his bag in his room and walks the few steps to Y/n's room and listens. It's quiet. He doesn't even know if she's in there but guesses she is. Sitting in her chair or laying on her bed in darkness. He knocks softly. "Y/n?" Silence. He knocks again. "Can I come in? I need to talk to you." He hears a very muffled "yeah" so he turns the knob and walks in. Just as he figured, Y/n is laying in a ball on her bed. It's pitch black in the room, the only light coming from the street lights outside from her window. He walks over, turning on the bedside lamp and sits beside her. He rubs her head and says, "I'm worried about you Y/n. What's going on?" She sniffs, showing Jungkook she's been crying again, and shrugs. "Nothing. I'm fine. Just tired." Jungkook sighs and feels frustration building. "Don't lie to me. It's me Y/n. You can talk to me about anything. Is it Jimin?" She curls more into herself at the mention of his name. "No. I'm just tired." Jungkook sighs again. "Every day Y/n? You're this tired every day? You don't even do anything to be tired! I call bullshit. Talk to me." She starts to cry and it breaks Jungkook's heart. "I saw him" she finally whispers. He narrows his eyes. "When?" "A couple weeks ago." "Where did you see him at?" "He was at the convenience store down the street." Jungkook feels anger brewing in his blood. Was he fucking stalking her? "Did you talk to him?" She curls more into herself, if that was even possible, and nods. Jungkook looks up to the ceiling, everything making sense. But he was furious at Jimin. "Where's the ring Y/n?" She says nothing. "Y/n, where's the ring? Give it to me. I'll give it back to him or pawn it for you. You have to stop carrying it." She sniffs and in a small voice says, "I gave it to him that night." She starts to cry harder and everything Sorin had said makes sense to him. He had to give her time to get over Jimin. Nothing he says will help her right now. "Do you want me to lay with you? Hold you?" She doesn't say anything or move. "I promise I won't try to sleep with you." She chuckles and the small sound is music to his ears. He takes a breath and lays down behind her, wrapping his arms around her and holding her tight. He kisses her head and says, "go ahead and be sad Y/n, it's ok. You're allowed. I'm here though....you aren't alone." At that moment though Jungkook didn't understand just how alone she felt.
