Second Chances

~Thirty Three~

Jimin spent every second he wasn't working with Y/n and Aeri until he left. He made sure to not be too touchy in front of Aeri so she didn't become confused before him and Y/n were able to discuss what this was between them, if they decided it would even be something. He hoped it was a new beginning for them but also knows things are far more complicated than years ago. She has a daughter now. They had to be careful and he knows he has to go at her pace. He's told her he's still in love with her and he knows she knows what he wants, but he's still not quite sure where her feelings lie. He wants to ask but also doesn't want to risk anything. They have only slept together the one night because Aeri has always been with them and he would never try when she's there. Today is his last day before leaving for Japan, his flight is scheduled for four hours from now. He's sitting in Y/n's apartment with both girls, trying to squeeze in some last moments before his car comes to get him. "Jimin, will you bring me back a souvenir?" Y/n rolls her eyes, hating when she asks for gifts. Jimin smiles though and says, "of course I will Ri. Do you have anything in mind you'd like?" Y/n shoots Aeri a glare but the little princess ignores her. "No, just anything. Maybe you will see something that reminds you of me." He smiles fondly at the girl and nods. "I'm sure that won't be a problem. I promise to bring you something amazing back. In the meantime, make sure to take good care of your Eomma while me and uncle Hobi will be gone." Aeri smiles and nods proudly at his trust in her.

Jimin finally gets the call that his car has arrived and it's time for him to go. Y/n and Aeri walk him down to the garage to see him off. He lifts Aeri first and hugs her and kisses her cheeks. "I'll miss you Ri. Be a good girl for your Eomma and I'll see you soon." She hugs him tight around the neck. "I will Jimin. I love you, make sure to eat and be healthy." Jimin beams and giggles at her trying to sound grown up. "I definitely will little one. And I love you too." He puts her down and she runs to Hobi who had gotten out of the car. He lifts her up and then smiles over to Jimin and Y/n while he turns Aeri away from them. Jimin turns to
Y/n with a warm smile and cups her cheeks and pulls her in for a soft but long kiss. Y/n looks around him to make sure Aeri hasn't seen, feeling nervous at the affection, and smiles and kisses him again when she sees Hobi has her distracted away from them. "I'm going to miss you so much Y/n" Jimin whispers as they part from the kiss. He tucks a few strands of hair behind her ear and stares into her dark doe eyes. She blushes, Jimin having always had that easy affect on her. "Me too. Take care of yourself over there. And of my brother." Jimin chuckles and nods. His smile stays but his eyes grow serious. "I love you-you don't need to say anything back. I just want you to know." Y/n smiles and looks down, shy. She nods and then reconnects her eyes with his. "I love you too." His eyes widen, not sure how to take her words. He stares at her and sees in her eyes what he saw years ago and his smile widens. "You love me??" He asks, hopeful. She smiles and nods. "I do. I always have. I know you've known this. But....I love you too." Jimin's smile grows so wide his eyes disappear. He pulls her into a tight hug and whispers, "thank you Y/n. I know I don't deserve this...or you, but, thank you." She pulls away and smiles so lovingly. "We will talk about it when you get back." He nods enthusiastically and kisses her cheek as Aeri runs up to them. "Uncle Hobi said 'let's go Chim Chim!" They all laugh and say their goodbyes.

A month passed by quickly, both Jimin and Y/n being busy with their own things. Before they knew it Jimin was landing back in Korea and his first stop was to see his girls. "HE'S HERE EOMMA!!!" Aeri screams as she's running for the door when the bell rang. Y/n laughs and loves seeing how excited she is to see Jimin. It's really important for her. Jimin and Y/n hadn't discussed anything about them since he left, neither wanting to have that conversation over the phone. "JIMIN!!" Aeri yells as he scoops her up into a hug as soon as she opens the door. "Ri!! How's my girl? Have you grown??" He puts her down and pretends to measure her as she giggles. "No silly, I mean....Eomma, did I grow?" Y/n laughs as they walk into the house. "You look the same size to me angel but I see you every day so I can't tell as much. Maybe you did." Aeri gets excited thinking she's gotten bigger in the past month. Jimin's smile takes over his whole face and he takes long strides until he wraps his arms around Y/n for a tight hug. "Welcome back" Y/n says as Jimin buries his face in her hair. "I missed you" he whispers and kisses her head. He pulls back and they lovingly smile at each other. "Want to stay for dinner? You can tell us all about Japan" Y/n asks. He nods as they all sit on the couch together, Aeri in between them.
