"No. I'm not. I got here just in time. I'm here, just in time," he cries.
"I'm already suffocated. You suffocated me. I'm nothing, now. I've been nothing for a long time. I'm empty," i say softly, running my fingers through his soft hair.
"Don't leave, Lynds. It will be better. I promise. I will always be here for you, always. I wont ever leave you again, ever. I'll help you breathe again," he begs and pleads.
"You can't breathe again if you've been suffocated," my eyes start to tear up again.
"If you really were suffocated, you wouldn't have waited for me to finish what i said. You would have just done it during my speech, but you didn't. You're not suffocated. You're suffocating, but i will help you breathe again. I will help you stop suffocating," he tells me.
It's silent for a few seconds before i speak. "Promise?" I whisper.
"Yes. I promise. I promise," he says, hope in his voice.
