Chapter 20

Flashback (in the old house with Alex, Meliodas, and a 3 yr old Eli)

Alex and Meliodas getting Elizabeth ready for dinner with the Demon King is a tassel... well, Alex getting herself, Meliodas, and Elizabeth ready is a tassel. She's running around while Meliodas sits on the bed, not even trying to help her look for his nice dress shirt Alex bought him a couple of weeks ago.

"Meliodas! If you don't help, so help me I will let you go looking like a homeless man!" She says looking under the bed

"You're worrying too much, Lexi! My dad isn't as formal as you think!" He gropes her butt while she's bent over, she's still pulling things out from under the bed, her unfinished scrapbooks of her and Meli, unfinished scrapbook and photo album of Elizabeth, and some other things.

"I'm pretty sure, if I recall correctly..." she starts still looking pulling out more things Meliodas probably stuffed under there after being told to clean their room. "Before you cleaned our room, it was on the floor by the bottom of the bed... and knowing you it's probably under here"

"Hmm... I don't recall..."

"Aha! Found it!" Meliodas removes his hand to facepalm, dragging his hand dramatically down his face. "Now, put this on and brush your hair. I'm gonna go get Elizabeth ready" She jogs to the door. She walks into Elizabeth's room to find her playing with some dolls and other things the little family either created or found on sale somewhere.

"Hi, baby! Okay so your father isn't being very nice and not getting ready, you think you can get dressed then help momma get daddy ready?" Elizabeth giggles running up to her mother

"Yes, momma. I'll help!"

"Okay then! What color dress do you want to wear?" Alex brings out a couple of dresses and Elizabeth picks a light blue dress, almost matching the silvery color of her hair, after putting on a headband to match and brushing her hair, she picks her up "Alright then! Let's go show daddy how pretty you look!" They walk into the shared bedroom, Alex sets her down and Elizabeth turns around, smiles at Alex, then turns back to Meliodas with a mean pout on her face

"Daddy! Why are you not listening to Mommy and getting dressed?" She crosses her arms and Meliodas laughs at her

"But I did, Eli! Look it!" He points to the dress shirt and Elizabeth turns to look at Alex.

"Tell him he forgot to brush his hair" Alex whispers in Elizabeth's ear and she smiles and turns back around

"You forgot to brush your hair!" She puts her hand on her hip and points, then both Meliodas and Alex laugh

"Alright Eli, would you like to help daddy brush his hair?" She smiles and runs to him, jumping on the bed

The family of three has made it to the Demon Kings castle, seeing Zeldris on the way there, Alex smiles and waves, and he does the same. They make it to the dining room, a huge table set, and some food - requested by Meliodas in advance because Alex is sort of a picky eater and he knows she would've forced anything down to not 'ruin' this for her family ( he knows his dad is gonna love her )  - they all sit and wait for the presence of the Demon King, the suspense of him not being there already made Alex even more nervous than she already was, Meli notices and puts his hand on her thigh. All of a sudden the doors bust open and the Demon King and an acquaintance of his walk in, laughing so hard you'd swear you'd see tears at the brims of their eyes.

"Oh! Hello, Meliodas! And I'm presuming my future daughter-in-law and my granddaughter!" Elizabeth looks at Alex as to look for permission to speak "Go ahead, Eli. Say hi to your granddad" she nods and goes to speak
