you think i can't speak your easy words too. i can tell you i love you when i really don't mean it and i can make you believe it. i know you to lie and bat my eyes and charm one into submission. i can't soothe. i can cry on cue to get sympathy and steal a lover or two. i know how to please. i know how to work around and go through loopholes. i know how to tease. grab you by your belt and kiss you until your lips bleed, but i don't want to. those words you speak bring nothing by heartbreak and ruin. they do no calm seas and carry along a gentle breeze. they will kill hopes and dreams and tear hearts apart by the seams. i can speak your easy words and once upon a time i would do so with ease, but i want more for myself. for the things i speak. i want my words not to be a spring breeze, but a blizzard in belize. to carry weight and make all those who hear freeze. listen to me darling. listen to me please. listen to the words i say with a heaviness inside of me: you are so beautiful and so loved. don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
