The Day You Left Me Behind

Chapter Five

"What the f*ck are you doing here?!" I shouted. Mama and Papa came here quickly once they hear me shouting.

"What the f*ck are doing in here too?" Sagot sakin ni Nexus.

"Duh! Bahay namin kaya to!" I answered him with a high tone. I look at my parents and Papa seems in shock.

"Ikaw yung anak ni Tito Stephen? Oh Val don't play with me. Kasambahay ka lang dito no." Pang aasar nya sakin. He is really getting into my nerves, nagawa pa nyang mag biro.

"He's the visitor we're talking about." Mama said. I turned around at them.

"Seriously Ma? After what he done to me?!" I shouted at them. Nag mamadali akong nag punta sa taas at nag kulong sa kwarto. Ayokong makita ang pag mumukha ng lokong yon! May hotel naman, may condo din sya.

Gosh! Bakit dito pa?!

They called me out for lunch pero ayoko silang labasin. The flashbacs starts to come in my head. I tried not to cry, pero may epekto pa rin talaga sya sakin.

Kinatok ako ni Mama to confront me pero di ko sila pinansin. I'm too pissed at them. Papa even tried to talk to me; but I would never let my guard down.

"Anak can we talk, please?" Papa said while knocking on my door. Hindi ko pa rin sila pinapansin. I don't want to talk to him.

I heard him trying to open my door with the key. I let him.

"Valeree can we talk? Anak please naman." He sat on my bed. I get up of the bed then face him.

"I ask your mom whats the problem about Nexus staying with us but she wont even gave me a word. But she told me to ask you. Care to tell me what happened about you and him?"

"Well pa, siya lang naman ang taong nanakit sakin ng sobra sa puntong I tried to drink up till death. I just don't wanna see his face ever again. Tapos ngayon umaakto syang parang di man lang nya ako sinaktan. Nag maka-awa ako sa harap ng madaming tao, pa. I went on my knees begging him not to leave me behind. He made me think that he's the one. We made promises. We dreamed together. Tapos nakita ko lang siyang may kahalikang iba na babae." Kita kong nag kuyom ang kamao ni Papa sa mga sinabi ko sa kanya.

"I'm so sorry, anak. Di ko alam na ganon pala pinag daanan mo. But I can't just kick him out of here. Baka mapahamak siya. After that week promise, you won't see him again. Baba ka na ha. Mag kakaroon tayo ng early dinner, gusto kita makasama bago ako umalis bukas. Isang araw lang akong wala, promise." He kisses my forehead and I give up, I let my guard down and just nodded. Papa left my room and I stayed still for a while.

I was being watched by him pero hindi nya alam na naging boyfriend ko si Nexus? I shook my head and didn't start overthinking anything. I might get into conclusions that will made my day worse.

Bumaba na ako sa dinning room and I saw them waiting for me, even Nexus. I tried to ignore him and not look him in the eye.

Umupo na ako sa tabi ni Mama at di sa pwesto ko talaga. Nandon na kasi si Nexus at ayaw ko naman syang katabi.

I start putting some food on my plate. "May flight ako mamaya, Nexus. Si Naomi muna ang bahala sa iyo. I'll be back the day after tomorrow. Try not to run through Valeree." Nagulat ako sa huling sinabi ni Papa. He really cares about me.

"Yes po Tito. Take care po." He nods and smiles softly, my heart starts pounding loudly. Shit! May epekto pa rin talaga sakin ang mokong.

Our dinner is a bit awkward because we don't talk to each other like usual.

Nauna syang matapos kaya ine-excuse nya ang sarili nya at pumunta na sala. Sumunod naman si Mama at Papa at ako ang huli.

"Una na kayo pa. May flight ka pa mamaya. Tutulong lang po ako sa pag ligpit dito." He nodded and kissed my forehead. Mama smiles at me.

"Sipag talaga ha. Para nung nasa bahay tayo di ka gumagawa ah." Mama teased me. I rolled my eyes at her.

"Si mama talaga, ayaw mo non sumispag na anak mo." Then I winked at her. We laugh at each other then she left the dinning room.

Tapos ko nang nailigpit yung kinainan namin at dinala ko na sa kitchen, huhugasan ko na sana pero sabi ni manang Inda ang mga kasam-bahay na daw ang bahala kaya pumayag na lang ako.

I slowly looked at our sala to check if he's there, but he's not?

Hmm? Saan nag punta yon.

Tumaas na lang ako papuntang room ni Mama para mangulit at mag papasama ako bukas sa mall. Saka gusto ko na rin i-check yung mga kaibigan at boyfriend ko.

While I'm running through the staircase I accidentally slipped and I thought I were going to fall but suddenly someone caught my hand in time. Its Nexus. My heart skipped a beat when I saw him. I'm so shocked about what happened that I couldn't move. Unti-unti nya akong inilapit sa kanya para itayo.

"Gosh Valeree! Can you watch where you're going?!" He said with a worried face. I came back to my senses and noticed that he still holding my hand. I immediately shook off my hand and he let go of it. I pushed him aside.

"Ano bang paki mo? Wala ka na don!" Tumaas na ako ng di man lang tumitingin sa kanya. I don't wanna see his face! Tumuloy na ako sa kwarto ni Mama at kumatok.

She opened the door and her mood changed when she saw me.

"Oh my God Valeree! Ok ka lang ba? Bat namumula ka? Is your allergies acting up again?" Mama asked worriedly.

I touch my cheeks and they feel warm.

I'M BLUSHING?!
