I stare at the cracked sidewalk as I make my way past the baseball field where some of the boys are pitching and cheering. I watched for a second when a ball was hit out of the park, and into the street a few feet away. It rolled past me and made a soft knock as it hit a cars tire.

In an attempt the throw the ball back to the boys, I turn to see what car it went under, it was a large black van. A pit grew in my stomach as I looked at the van. Something was off about it..I couldn't tell you what but it made me feel sick to my stomach.

Something brings me out of my thoughts, the drivers door opened and a tall man in a top hat fumbled out of the van. He wore mainly black aside from his white face paint and sunglasses. The shades of light brown and silvery hair that wasn't hidden under his hat, fell around his face messily.

He laughed as he almost tripped out of the van, I took a small step back still a little uneasy. He recollected himself and looked up at me.

"We'll hello there..!" He said in cheery tone and tipped his hat.

"Oh uh..hello.." I said quietly 'something is wrong' I thought to myself.

"Lose something of yours?" He asked and smiled at me tilting his head a bit. It takes me a moment to respond "I-um..not mine exactly but it came from the field.." I said.

"Oh I see" he smiles and takes a step closer. My body froze a bit and I swallowed hard.

"I should go..I'll be late for class.." I said unable to look away from him.

"Wait..!" He said, a hint of annoyance fell from his mouth. "You haven't gotten your ball back.." he went back to his smiley attitude.

He takes a step closer and reaches behind my head, I close my eyes in fear and hold my breath. He seemingly pulled the baseball from behind my ear and presented it to me.

"Ta-da.." he said quietly and started laughing, I take breath a chuckle a little, in his hands was the baseball. 'Was i scared for nothing?'

"Thank you mister.." I paused not knowing his name, "Albert" he replied with a smile tipping his hat once more. I take the ball from his hand and begin my walk to class.

For the rest of the day that interaction stayed fresh in my mind. He hadn't done anything to scare me but I felt uneasy around him..strange.

"Y/n have you seen the newest flyer?" My friend, Faye asked running up to my desk with a paper. I sigh "no, who is it this time?" I ask reluctantly.

"Bruce Yamada..!" She said and my stomach dropped. 'There's no way..' I thought to myself..I had just seen him this morning..he hit the ball out of the park..

"Y/n are you okay?" Faye asked worried, I nodded but just stared at Bruce's picture on the flyer..

"Students regarding the kidnappings of out very own students I encourage you all to not walk home alone, at night, and if you see anything suspicious report it and don't investigate." Our teacher said at the end of our class with a frown.

On my way home I passed the baseball field and felt sick to my stomach. How is no one seeing who's doing this?

I walk home and enter through the door, the house is filled with silence..once again. I look around my house for any sign of my parents but not a sound. I walk to the kitchen where there is a lonely piece of paper reading. "Late meeting at the office, won't be home till late. Food in im the fridge. Love mom and dad" I roll my eyes and open the fridge.

I stare at the crusted over cold spaghetti and gag to myself. I reach down and grab a beer and some chips. I sit in the living room and eat my snack.

I hear a tapping shout from the window in the kitchen. I ignore it assuming it's just a branch, but it continues till I can't take it and look outside.

Nothing.. I stand in the door way and look out the dark street that is illuminated by dim street lamps.

I close the door and go back to the tv but this time I turn the volume down so I can hear if the taping returns.

Soon my eyes feel heavy and my head is resting on the couch. I feel myself about to fall into a deep sleep.

RIIIINGGGGGG

I gasp a bit startled by the abrupt sound I take a breath and stand to answer the phone. "Hello?" I ask but was greeted with silence.

"Hello? Who is this?" I ask again but before I could get an answer the line cuts. I pause for a second and put the phone back.

I decided I couldn't sleep and needed a snack. I grabbed some money from the counter and put my shoes on. Before I left I hesitated to grab a pocket knife.ultimately deciding to take it.

I began my 5 minute walk to the corner store near my house. After getting what I needed I sat outside and ate some of the chips I had bought. Once i was finished I started walking back to my house.

The dogs in the neighborhood were barking like crazy..could they hear me walking around? I shrugged it off and continued. Suddenly that feeling was back..the unexplainable fear it was much worse this time. I grabbed the pocket knife from home and held it tightly.

The it happened..it was fast too, like I knew it was coming I just couldn't figure out when...

I felt strong arms wrap around me and hold me tightly. I struggled and thrashed but to no avail. I screamed a bit and stomped hard on the foot of whoever had me in their grips. He let go and yelled out a bit. I gasped and stabbed his leg I grunted and started to move away but it was too late.

He grabbed my ankle tightly and wasn't letting go. I tried to hold on to the pavement but my fingers slipped as he pulled me closer and shoved something in my face. The next thing I know my eyes went blurry and I couldn't move

This was it..this was how I died..?
