CLmauve: life debt expands on the lore of the bad batch and wider star wars universe. it is nice to see fiction inspired by a new series, especially one I bothered to watch. tech gets a more comedic side, while the stakes remain as high as in the animated series, with good writing, plot, and atmosphere to a fledging fanfiction that punches above its league to make for a credible addition to a good series. keep it up :)

the latest chapters of aftermath: life debt continue to strengthen the integrity of the overall work and dedication to the source material through consistent plot and character development that could certainly hold its own as part of storylines in the Bad Batch series. keep up the good work :)

ShavelleS: So far your characters are well executed and I can already establish their personality types. I know who is the blunt honest one and who is persistent. I loved that you intertwined the description into the dialogue, for example 'Hunter kneeled down to her level, and faced her eye to eye.' I immediately could tell more about Omega. You did it with the personality as well, For example when they warned Omega to saty on the ship, as she is the type to go against their decision and follow them. I am not a fan of Star Wars. I have never watched it before. I liked this story though because it encapsulates what every successful story has: an engaging plot. I loved the relationship between the characters and how they individually add a different aspect to the story. You can see how each person value their frienship based on how they converse and interact with them. The whole crew was up for saving a member of their group. I loved that the story has strong themes like friendship, survival and betrayal! There were a few moments that had me at the edge of my seat. I could not wait to see what happened next. It is a promising story. The story was well paced and the events gave it just the right amount of suspense. I might just watch Star Wars because of this :)

philipblade (the tiger awards): The cover art is pretty good and I enjoy the font quite a bit too. The title gives very little away and is decent, though not really captivating enough to grab the attention of a prospective reader. However, it does fit in with the story and I can understand its usage.

The plot and characters is another thing that needs to be mentioned. I understand that the overall plot is just starting out, from what I've read so far, it's quite simple. But from a fanfiction standpoint, its above average. It tells a relatively self-contained story and I can confidently guess the backstory and happenings in the show (Which I sadly haven't watched) Your writing style is also quite simple however it gets the job done. I can understand what is going on, however at points it did get a little clustered. As to the content of the actual plot, I enjoyed reading it; It was rather interesting.

The thing that I enjoyed the most are the characters and the way you've written them. They are all written creatively and are very fun. Their dynamics are shown immediately and it is what carries the story. Their constant bickering is weirdly endearing, and I also like that Hunter gets an addiction, it was an interesting choice and one that was quite unique as it had a narrative purpose. As a stand-alone tale, it works well.

And a quote that I seem stupid to have never thought about is when Tech comments on wrecker's fear of heights:

"No one has a fear of heights, only a fear of falling."

I don't know why but I never thought of it that way. Regardless it was quite memorable.

Kanae_Yoshida (the rainflower contest 2022): The cover, title blurb are awesome. The only book whose prologue I have voted in the entire contest. The characters are great the storyline is good. Few punctuation doesn't matter much but this is overall an interesting book. Also the theme is great as it is about caring for each other, past wounds and fighting times together.
