Chapter 3

Sparkling's pov

"Are you still thinking about that guy?" Cocoa giggled to me.

"No," I said quickly, blushing.

"You should've asked for his number," Mint chuckled taking a sip of his drink.

"He was kinder cute," Vampire slurred, "Hurn roight?"

"Herb," I corrected him, "Maybe I'll visit his shop tomorrow?"

"And do what?" Mint asked, "By the way, you should get some workers. You're always going to be tired otherwise."

"Like Espresso," Cocoa giggled.

Instead of answering his question, I started wiping some cups. I paused on one, a tea green tea cup. The one Herb used two nights ago. Argh, I'm thinking about him. Again. So much for not falling for someone I just met. I can't help it though, he was adorable. Damnit, it was only around 10:30. I had just opened for a couple hours. Focus Sparkling! There's a new costumer. Focus. Focus...

"Can I have a cup of Green Tea please?" the person asked.

"Sure," I replied, not glancing up, "here, enjoy~"

I said it kind of flirty, thinking it was just another costumer. When I handed them the drink, I realized it was a male. A kind of short male with leafy green hair and a smile that cause butterflies. Herb. He was so cute, and close to me. I soon felt heat rising to my cheeks. 

"C-can I have it?" Herb stuttered nervously, and blushed a bit.

"O-oh right," I said and gave it to him quickly, "S-sure."

It got kind of awkward, and Mint was giving me a look. Oh right! Phone number. 

"Can I have you number?" I asked politely, "I really enjoyed chatting with you last time."

"Oh sure!" Herb exclaimed, "give me a second to get it.."

I waited patiently, but herb told me, "Oh shoot, I forgot my phone at home. Sorry..."

"Oh no that's fine," I said faking a smile, "M-maybe I could visit your shop tomorrow?"

His face lit up an he said happily, "Sure!"

Then he finished his drink, and I may or may not have watched him do so. Maybe I'll ask him out! No no, focus on the next costumer Sparkling.

Herb's pov

Is he watching me drink? He is. Oh my god. I blushed and use the cup to hide my face. I can't believe I screwed up and forgot my phone. Eeep! Well, at least his coming to my shop. Arghhh now I'm nervous. A girl with white fading brown hair came up to the counter.

"Hey Sparkling! Are you tired already?" The girl asked, "Need help?"

"Heheh kind of, it is a busy place after all," Sparkling chuckled, "And don't you have students to teach?"

"Sparkling! It's summer break for god sake. And there's only 30 or so kids in this whole kingdom! The girl rolled her eyes, "I wouldn't mind taking a morning shift so you can actually sleep. I want to actually convince someone to sleep, cuz' Espresso keeps ignoring me!"

"Latte, Thanks. And I doubt you'd convince Espresso No offense, maybe Madeleine though.." Sparkling sighed, "I guess for 6-7 would be a great time. How much should I pay you?"

"Oh nothing. Just tell me any gossip on Espresso and Madeleine. What do you mean my maybe Madeleine? hmmm?" Latte giggled, "Also free drinks for me please!"

"Aww I wanna work here then," Vampire whined.

Was Sparkling dating Latte? I thought a bit jealous. Wait, what?! No, I do not have a crush on him. She is pretty though.. and seems to care about him. Isn't Latte Espresso's sister? Maybe I can ask him later when I go back home?

"Ooo, someone jealous?" A brown hair and eyes girl teased me. 

"W-what! No," I stuttered turning red, "Who are you?"

"I'm Cocoa, Mint choco's girlfriend," She replied smiling, "and you sure you aren't? You're looking like a strawberry right now."

Wait, Mint choco? I've heard he was a really famous violinist. Wow she's lucky to have someone like him. I wonder what Sparkling would be like.. Stop with you thoughts Herb. Latte chose that time to notice me and she let out a gasp. She leaned over and clasped my hands. 

"You must be the new cookie! Herb, right?" She squealed ecstatically, "Did you seel Espresso some flowers this Morning?!"

"Um ye-no," I changed mid-sentence, remembering Espresso's request. 

"You're a terrible liar," She joked and I blushed, "Also were you jealous of me while I talked to Sparkling? He's kind of glaring at me right now."

Indeed, Sparkling was looking over at us, but turned away the second I stared back. 

"Okay, Sparkling, I'll be here at 6! Goodbye to you two lovebird," Latte sung and waved goodbye.

"I uh- should get going," I said nervously, "I guess bye then?"

"Uh-uh!" Cocoa said, "you just got here! Chat for us for a bit."

"Babe, let herb do what he likes," Mit interjected, but when Cocoa pouted he quickly said, "I just mean if he wants..."

"Can you stway?" Vampire murmured drunkily, "or Sparkling's gwono bwe sod and complan."

(translation: can you stay? Or sparkling's gonna be said and complain)

"Vampire!" A very red Sparkling scowled, "And Herb, do you want to be friends with us? Please chat for a bit."

I took a deep breath trying to calm myself down. 

"Sure, I'd love to."

Another chapter done! School is starting in around 10 days, but I'm going on a four day trip before that soooo I might not post. I mean I'll try to, but once school starts I'll be posting a bit less. orr maybe not. lol
